wearing high heels when they make you taller than the average man

argh! i have bought so many high heels and love to wear them but feel like the 50 ft woman when i wear them, towering over most of the population! I am only 5.6 yet feel ridiculously tall that it makes me self conscious

shall i just embrace it and be happy to be taller?

Isn't 5'6" average? It's my height and I don't feel huge in heels I love them, in fact I feel quite dumpy in flats after a few days wearing heeled boots.

Ok, I know this is a bad thing on so many levels, but ... I have to admit, I did feel an evil sense of satisfaction when I went to a party and saw my wanker ex (who I'd been avoiding for, quite literally, years), and I was wearing 5 inch heels that let me look him in the eye.

I rarely wear heels these days but that time did feel worth it.

I don't like wearing heels when I'm with short women... 5'8" + heels when surrounded by 5'4 women is daft.

Agree with gindrinker, I'm 5'9" and have one particular group of female friends that are all teeny, and don't like towering over them. I rather enjoy towering over men though.

I was at a charity ball and they were taking a photo of our group. They said women to the front, men at the back. Yet I was way taller than some of the men.

I am also 5' 6 and wear heels of 4in and above; I do sometimes feel like a giant when I go out, last time I went to the pub with friends back in Essex I was taller than all the women (and most of the men!). Plus all my friends are around the 5ft mark and wear much smaller heels than me which doesn't help.

If I go out with a taller group I feel much more comfortable.

I'm 5ft 8 and can't walk in high heels but do like that bit of extra height that wedges or even small heels give.
