Are spanx worth the money? Or are the cheaper versions just as good?

Am a size 16, fairly well proportioned but have a saggy tummy and need something to suck in the loose skin and c section overhang Sad
Need something that won't roll down and preferably a thigh length jobby as am hoping to wear a fitted midi dress so would prefer no vpl.

Have a big night out next month and would love to feel more confident!

TIA

No, they aren't. You get what you pay for in the control pant department.

Am looking at the Higher Power spanx....does anyone have any experience of these? Paranoid about them rolling down Blush

Every pair of spanx I've tried has rolled down. I spent one 'do' visiting the loo every half hour or so to hoik the sodding things back up as I looked as if I had a small bouyancy aid under my dress. It could just be that I'm short and have a short waist though. I've not found a cheap version that I'm totally happy with either. I haven't tried the higher power ones. I've given up on them :(

to me, no. As bullet says..the rolling down. Incredibly uncomfortable. I don't think it's about height, bullet. I'm 5ft 9. I have the ones that cover thighs and are meant to go up to under the boobs. But they don't. They roll down halfway down my back and cut off my circulation and the roll bit shows nicely through my clothes...which is the opposite to what they're supposed to do! Now i've found something far comfier...a spanx type vest from M&S that i can pull down over my bum..and wear with or without a bra...this doesn't help my thighs, but they're not too bad..if they were i'd just get some support short style undies

i spent two days in spanx last weekend. I've declared war on them! never again! Agony. i had chafe marks from where they rolled down. I actually made holes in them from yanking them up! the thing is, they're meant to stay in place. No yanking needed. Not true!

I got a nice body control suit from m&s that works well. It's sort if like a dress with straps and it sits under your bra and reaches down to about mid thigh. Cost me £36 and would recommend. I'm a size 12 and 5'4"

I have a Maidenform waist slip which is very good. I wear it a little higher than you're supposed to just under my bra to disguise my wobbly tummy area.

I've used spanx higher power and they're great. No rolling down at all. You have to get the right size so be honest about your weight. I got size d and they didn't shift and were comfortable to wear. I can also recommend the m and s control slips. They give a nice smooth line too. I'm size 16 and have the c section overhang too.

I think their terrible. Lose weight or buy a dress that fits

Their terrible?!?!

I have the higher power - no issue with rolling down at all, bought them for the point where I had lost the baby weight but not the wobble. Also have the M&S slip which goes under your bra (got it when doing a MN shapewear trial) and that is also very good.

I have only bought M&S/Magic Pants type copies, and have always had trouble with them rolling up/down or getting lines around the waist or overspill over the top.
I've just bought a version from primark (£8) where its like a full 'body' but a cut out at the front so you wear your own bra. It seems to work but I haven't tested on a night out yet. NO good for low cut/strappy things though.

Maidenform are better than spanx in my opinion

Spanx are great! Got power panties, leggings, mama and mama tights!
If they roll down - YOU HAVE GOT THE WRONG SIZE.
I was lucky enough to try on several sizes and the A size rolled down but the B is fantastic.

I prefer spanx having bought. Few different types . I am size 8 hourglass but post 2 babies and massive weight gain I'm a bit squishy . With spanx I can wear body con of the desire takes me. Ignore Nehru , she is pretty blunt in most of her posts .Smile

Again, the dress does fit, I am just not confident about my overhang.

I am low carbing and doing C25K but I am aware that this will not shift the section overhang or the loose stretched skin from 3 children.

I buy mine from Primark. They're pretty heavy duty for £6 and they're the cycle shorts type that smooth out your tummy, hips, bum and thighs. I buy mine in my usual size for more of a smoothing effect than anything and they work decently on my big overhanging belly and less than smooth sides. I'm a big size 18-20 so I have a lot to suck in and they come in nude and black iirc.
