Swimsuit for big boobs and shoulders?

Dancergirl · 07/05/2013 16:17

Can anyone help me? I want a flattering swimsuit not in a horrible big print that won't make me look mumsy.

I'm 5'3", size 12 with boobs. I'm generally happy with my body except my shoulders which are wider than my hips, hate them.

Any ideas?

I'm the shape and as you but a bit bigger, have been looking for a swimsuit I'm actually happy in for years. This came today and it's very flattering indeed. The low cut at the bottom makes my hips and bum look bigger which is fab, balances my shoulders without making me look bigger. So, yeah, I can highly reccomend that shape of costume.

I'm not in the UK, but here are some UK sites.

(Oh, and the tummy control on mine is a thing of wonder. I'm norky but there's plenty of room, if anything less room would have been good but then my norks are very soft nad floppy)

Bravissimo every time for me. Lots of choice, and brilliant fit.

Check out their bikinis too, having a proper bra fit top makes all the difference. Grin

Halter necks are good on big boobs.

Brastop sell lots of bra sized swimwear at brilliant prices. They are also amazing on returns and exchanges.

Hmm, not sure about the 50s style ones and Bravissimo look a bit sporty.

Ideally I'd like a higher cut leg...or should I be aiming for a lower leg to balance the shoulders?

A low leg really does balance things out, I was amazed. It goes more or less straight around the broadest bit of my hips (maybe just under) so that's where the eye I drawn. a high leg moves the vertical that the eye is drawn to up to the top curve of the hip where they;re slimmer. Hard to explain. A quick scroll through the M&S pants department might help.

THe plain coloured swimsuits don't scream 1950, I don't think. I don't imagine you'll be prancing about in high heeled sandals, red lippy, 'done hair' and tatts Wink The styling of the models those sites add a lot, of, er, look.

plain black modeled more 'normally' here.

halterneck with a highre low leg

Thought there'd be loads on asos but there are mostly low leg lines / cut outs.

I second brastop, I have had all my recent swimming costumes (I swim a lot so I need a couple a year) from there.

They are cup sized and really do fit. The one I have atm is by Freya whose bras I also love, I like ti so much I bought two while they had them. I have also bought Zoggs ones in the past.

However these may be a bit sporty for you...in which case the 50s ones linked look lovely. I couldn't wear a halter neck (32GG boobs) but you may be fine Grin

Thanks all. I quite like the gingham one mrslettuce I'd have never considered a low leg, and it doesn't look frumpy?
