What do you do with your legs between waxings in summer?

After a lifetime of shaving, I got into a good waxing routine this winter and my leg hair is genuinely lighter.
However, my legs are gross at the moment. I have waxing every 4 weeks and I am 2 weeks in. There is patchy hair and they are super dry. There is NO WAY I could get them out. It's such a lovely evening, I want to put on a comfy dress and go for a little walk.

But I don't really want to shave...I sense this is going to be a recurring theme this year. What do you all do during the summer?

This, my friend, is why you need to submit to the sweet torture that is an epilator.

I was going to suggest an epilator too.

I find it much less painful than waxing. I do my legs about once a week, and the epilator works on very short hairs. I find the hairs grow back slowly, so when I epilate there are only a few hairs here and there, so it's not too painful.

I hope that makes sense!

Exactly.

Good things about epilators:

  1. cheaper than wax (after initial outlay)

  1. works on extremely short hair

  1. quick

  1. handy

Bad things:

  1. make quite a lot of noise

Trouble with shaving its 5 minutes a day and miss a day at your peril.

Epilator is 10 minutes a week.

Good for lazy types.

They are really loud and can be quite painful but epilator is your best bet.

Never touch the demon epilator. I had awful ingrown hairs, ended up at dermatologist and upshot was had to leave legs for about 18 months till all healed.

I wax in winter, shave in summer. A winter (9 months in uk) keeps hairs light so shaving easier in summer.

I had an epilator before and I really didn't get on with it. I hated the sensation and it took forever.
I think it will have to be shaving...

This will be my first summer with epilated legs as opposed to shaved ones.

Trouble is they look spotty (not actual spots but the holes where the hairs come from are visible IYSWIM). Is there any way of avoiding that?

I epilate when I can be arsed and I love it. Do legs, underarms and tache.
It is very loud though, DP though it was something else entirely the first time he heard it ShockWink

What do I do with my legs in the winter?
First I put the left one in. Then out. Then in. Then out. Then shake it all about. A bit of hokey cokeying.
Repeat with right leg.
This keeps em in good working order.
I shave in the summer.

Norbert: immediately after epilatingw ipe legs with cotton wool soaked in an astringent tea tree face toner. Don't moisturise for 24 hours. Might help.

I shave. Once a week at the most in the summer. Am I a slattern?

To be fair, I have very blonde hairs which barely show and don't feel stubbly at allWink

Aloe Vera gel works really well to settle akin after epilating and helps lessen large follicles

I used the wax strips the other night but they weren't great so ended up using the epilator after 24 hours. won't ever shave legs though.

I think next year we should all post pictures of our winter legs. Our real, hairy, women's legs. Un-ashamed.

I shave legs and underarms twice a week whilst leaving on conditioner in shower. Done. Easy.

Shaving once a day? Really?

(have I been doing this wrong?! I shave once a fortnight... God shaving is difficult. Too many rules!)
