Hi all, I am a size 22 but have previously been a 28. Have lost 5 stone and despite still being a big lady, am feeling good! Dh is having kids next weekend while I meet up with friends in home town and we will have some drinks and go to our local nightclub. Have been looking around and am struggling to know what to wear! I am at biggest on my hops and tummy but my legs are smaller and my shoulder area is too. Any ideas? Not really wanting to spend over £50...

Fantastic weight loss, well done.

I have this top. I wear it over leggings and love it. It's flattering and comfortable to wear.

this is nice and covers arms
That Anna Scholz one is nice but not sure if I'd wear it to a nightclub
Congratulations on your incredible weight loss. I am also 5ft9 and currently a large 16 so would like to lose 3/4 stone. I just need some self control.

This:-

3 quid over your budget but it's designer massively reduced in the sale and well re-sellable on ebay as you continue your weight loss (well done!).

Black - so safe, bit of leg - you said you have nice legs and a v-neck (but not too deep) to show of your assets and it has a waist because you have a figure.

Her designer stuff hangs beautifully because the fabrics are thick, quality and weighted - they skim rather than cling and take a size or two off. My only caveat would be to order a size up - as with all designer clothing it comes up a bit small.

Thank you Honey, those dresses are lovely, just need some confidence as they are quite short!yes adele is stunning and always looks fantastic. Dorothy perkins dress is nice too...

Regarding your style, I would look at pictures of Adele.

She is a larger lady and always looks elegant and stylish. Ok her outfits are expensive but you can get ideas for different styles in high street shops or online.

Avoid big patterns or florals as they are usually very unflattering and make you look bigger. Go for a block colour and then use bright accessories such as a statement necklace or bright bag.

Well done you, dorethy Perkins has soe nice dresses which you could wear with leggings or skinnies if they are a bit short.
prom dress. Would be nice with some heels and a little jacket/cardi if you want something dressy.

cheekymonk Sun 21-Apr-13 08:04:31

Aw thanks guys! Am going to keep going but 5 stone feels quite a milestone and can't believe how much better I feel about myself.

Nothing useful to add but well done on the weight loss, it's quite an achievement smile

Januarymadness Sat 20-Apr-13 22:50:21

Well done. It is a huge achievement and your fashion choices are growing!

cheekymonk Sat 20-Apr-13 22:31:53

Thanks janji- I totally agree, never know how to be 'on trend'! Doing weight watchers and did couch to 5k which has changed my life. Thanks januarymadness

Januarymadness Sat 20-Apr-13 22:30:24

look for the sales in simply be and yours. John lewis you can search by size and price. The low cost range isnt massive but its worth a shot. Also debenhams go up to 22 as well.

janji Sat 20-Apr-13 22:27:47

You have done so well; what diet have you done??!! I'm bumping this thread as I despair knowing how to dress stylishly and more on trend whilst being a size 20?

I have some black leggings with sparkly bits down the side could get one of these tops and maybe the boots but not sure if ok with leggings? I am 5ft 9 so lack confidence in heels. I am 34 btw.
