Your favourite smells that are NOT perfumes...

I am getting more and more discerning with the smell of products in general, not just perfume, and I think they contribute just as much to your "smell". I love the smell of Aussie volumising shampoo and conditioner, and I have an abahnabody lotion that I love that smells of. Honeysuckle. I love layering on lots of lovely smells. I have yet to find a clothes washing detergent that I truly love though. What are your favourite non-perfume smells? Smile

I adore the smell of bleach! It just makes me feel clean.
Sweet peas - smelling them always reminds me of growing up as we had loads in our garden.
Cinnamon - I just do.

Lavender, it grows by my garden steps.
Rosemary, thyme and herbs in general, that smell you get once you step into the scrub land in Majorca in summer.

Christmas scent, orange, cinnamon, making Christmas cake and grating in nutmeg.

Real old fashioned roses.

Clementines
Pine sap on cones
My boys just after their bath, i think its the combination of baby powder, lotion, and their hair (Burt's bees or the purple j&j)
Dh. He doesn't even wear aftershave, he just smells so good.
Men wearing lush's 'cosmetic lad'cream.
Wheat fields on a really hot day (childhood)
Hay bales, saddle soap (as above)

daffodils Smell cheerful but snowdrops smell the best,.like tiny pieces of honey and perfection, only not cloying at all. If someone could successfully bottle the smell of snowdrops everything, and I mean everything in my life would just cease while I sniffed joyfully!

Logs burning on the fire
Dried slices of oranges
The air when I'm horse riding
The stables
Pipe smoke too
The smell of spring/summer/autumn/winter
I think my favourite may be freshly cut grass

Sawdust and coffee and cigarettes...my Dad
Since my third trimester started I've become obsessed with the scent of my Neutrogena face wash...I always wash my face twice in the shower now and just sit there inhaling it!

Oh and my parents' sauna! It's -30 at least in the winter there, and after steaming up I stand outside in a towel getting colder and colder, looking at all the stars and smelling the woodsmoke and the snow and the hot cedar benches inside. It's lovely.

Lots of the above smells

Cigars - take me back to when I was about 4 sitting at my Grandpa's feet.

Vanderbilt perfume - reminds me of my mum. I have a bottle that was on her dressing table, it's gone all dark and smells awful now but I could never part with it.

Fishermans friends - reminds me of my dad.

Fish n chips.

Freshly baked bread.

A casserole cooking in the winter.

That 'spring' smell you get when the weather starts to turn a bit nicer.

Ditto for Autumn.
