I have chest length hair and am starting to debate whether to get it cut or not. It's not a massive deal; I've had short hair before. I tend to get bored every 2-3 years and just get it all lopped off into a chin length bob.
So, here I am again. And every time I have this debate with myself I start to think "but is long hair more attractive". I do like the novelty of getting my hair cut, but after a week of everyone admiring it, and feeling all new, well, then I just have short hair, which I will have to blow dry (I never do that now, my hair is poker straight).
So what are your thoughts on long vs short hair? I'm talking bob length btw.
It's the person not the cut I think. Personally I look like a twat with long hair. I have very very short hair (currently with a bit of a 'fauxhawk' - apologies for the ridiculous term). When it's longer I feel older and a bit ordinary.
But that's me! I envy people with gorgeous flowing locks. I just never look that good when my hair gets past my ears.
I have very straight hair and just had it cut into a classic bob with fringe swept across. It takes literally 5 mins to style and dry and I can use straighteners if it's not quite sitting right - but mostly just falls into place!
It's all about having a good cut I think. Long hair can be lovely if it suits you and in beautiful condition but I increasingly think shorter hair looks more classy if you are anything older than teens!
Try a chocolate brown rinse for the kind of colour Rachel W has in that photo. See if you like the intensity of that colour on you. I thought it looked good.
Could you imagine going to the hairdressers now and then just to get it styled? If you did you could get that wavy look. When the hairdressers do it, your hair stays in shape longer. What's their trick? After 2 days you'd need to put it up or back off your face a bit or wash it since the curls will have dropped - and then you'd be at the end of the week still looking great.
I think you just need to learn to do some things with it. (I say this although I need to do just the same ). Have a look on youtube for some videos. I found nice ideas on there for my dd's hair which is long and straight like yours. I am useless at that kind of thing but after a bit of practice , I found a few nice variations for dd.
Hmm still debating. Tried to give my hair a reprieve with a dark brown dye but now it just looks a bit flat and one dimensional.
Can't afford to go and get it styled. I don't do a lot with my hair. I don't really suit it up. The thing is if I get it cut I know I'll love it. But it's whether that love will last longer than a week... I'm such a ditherer!
