What to wear to the Airport in this Weather?

off on a sun holiday in less than 2 weeks and I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally don't want to take my winter coat! I'll be travelling to the airport at about 6am and will be getting a bus to a train station and then a train to the airport so will need something that is reasonably warm and not bulky. I don't have anything suitable and would like things that can possibly be worn on the holiday in the evenings, any suggestions? and what the hell do I wear on my feet? socks and sandals?? Grin

please help, can go (high street £) shopping, am size 16 so can't just wear leggings and a cashmere jumper and would like to look reasonably pulled together.

When we went to the Canaries in Feb a couple of years ago IIRC I wore wide leg jeans (as they were loose they didn't feel too hot when we got there), Converse with socks (and took flip flops in hand luggage to change into), layers of tops (vest top, long sleeved top, light cardigan -all could be rolled up small for hand luggage on the plane or when we got to arrivals) with a denim jacket (that was perfect for the chillier evenings there) and a MN style scarf for added warmth this end of the journey.

Hey Norbert the Canaries is exactly where we're headed! I've got some wide leg trousers that would be suitable now I think of it but alas my denim jacket is far too small (size 12). Did you get good weather?

We had excellent weather - not ridiculously OTT heat which was a relief but certainly lounging around on sunbeds and in/out of the pool all day type of weather. Evenings could be a bit chilly at times especially if it was breezy but only in that you needed a jacket or cardigan if sitting outdoors.

However a work colleague had gone the previous week and it had been quite chilly (but this was during early Feb).

It should be lovely and warm/hot for you.

Sounds perfect - can't wait, is it just me or do the winters seem to be getting longer?

I have ordered this cardigan and this scarf.

I've just had to throw my ash plimsoles out but could do with replacing them so maybe I will treat myself to something nice
