I'm wanting a pair as they look so comfy.....but do I risk looking like mutton? Or a Rita ora groupie?

Willow36 Thu 14-Mar-13 09:41:57

I want a pair too. DH screwed his face up. I fear I'm not "cool" enough to pull them off. Have you checked out Doesmybumlook40 blog? She has some and she looks fabbbbbbb in them.

Only if you are

A. Young

B. very trendy, it's no use wearing these with a m&s waterfall cardigan and jeans from Asda. Lol

Preferably A & B

They do look comfy though! I'm tempted but am nearing 50 so its a no for me!

BobbiFleckmann Thu 14-Mar-13 11:20:35

i blinking LOVE mine, super comfortable and I would add to the above list (c) is short. they do need a skinny leg profile - tights or tight jeans tho'

I want a pair too... I showed dh a picture and he was hmm but what does he know grin

I bought 2 pairs of the suede Ash ones, worn both of them a couple of times. They are really comfortable but i'm not sure if they are me.
Contemplating putting them on ebay to be honest.
I'm 40 by the way.

bishboschone Thu 14-Mar-13 21:07:18

I have 3 pairs.. I love them , I got them from new look as I don't actually like the ash ones. Lovely and comfy

PetiteMum Thu 14-Mar-13 21:32:12

So what does one wear them with? Even Zara have some!

you do not need to be young to wear wedge trainers..Im nearly 50 and Im wearing themshock

BanoffeeSplitz Fri 15-Mar-13 00:15:47

I don't see them as a young thing - more of a smart look & haven't noticed anyone under 30 wearing them.

TBF it could be that younger women only wear them at night, in places I am too old to go these days grin.

I'm 28 and have a couple of pairs which I wear a lot.

ArcticRoll Fri 15-Mar-13 08:51:55

I think lots of women over forty are wearing them -so if you like them buy them-haven't seen anyone under thirty wearing them IRL.

shopafrolic Fri 15-Mar-13 09:02:02

I'm 40 and have one pair which I love. So comfy, and make my size 7 feet look smaller (believe it or not!).

lurkingfromhome Fri 15-Mar-13 09:07:42

I'm 45 and love them. Have one pair that I bought from Ebay for £20 (indistinguishable from the Ash versions as far as I'm concerned grin) and I wear them all the time. Very comfy, make my feet look smaller too and they're casual but still quite smart. They do need skinny jeans or trousers, though.

ifancyashandy Fri 15-Mar-13 10:07:18

Currently wearing mine right now! Grey Ash ones. Worn with dark blue skinny jeans from Paige and a navy & black stripped silk long sleeved / round necked top from Maison Scotch.

Am 43.

I've got red and tan ash ones which I love but find them a bit narrow. Also a pair of sketchers in black that look like distressed black converse hi tops but with a hidden wedge, love these more as they are super confortable. Wear with skinny jeans as discussed grin

MrsLS Fri 15-Mar-13 12:00:01

Right, that's convinced me - off to invest!

JumpHerWho Fri 15-Mar-13 12:15:28

ifancy - love the sound of your outfit envy

Anyone seen any good cheapie ones? I bought Ash Thelmas for £29 off Shopaholics back in about November, and stupidly returned them as I couldn't imagine wanting to wear them. Now that I'm pretending Spring is here, I fancy a pair again. I'm quite tempted by these - they had some on the everything5pounds website but sold out.

bishboschone Fri 15-Mar-13 12:54:32

Have a look at new look or Dorothy Perkins for cheap ones. eBay has loads too. Depends on what colours you are after .

tethersend Fri 15-Mar-13 12:56:12

In the interests of balance, I thought it important that I say that I think they're fucking awful grin

teta Fri 15-Mar-13 12:58:07

I hope no one minds me posting this but i have just posted in the For Sale section a pair of size 5 Ash Thelmas[at least they look like Ash Thelmas]worn twice[i am trying to rationalise my wardrobe via the frugal fashionista thread].

JumpHerWho Fri 15-Mar-13 13:01:39

I have actually never managed to find the for sale section on here... where the hell is it?! Even google isn't helping me and I've been here for years...

Algorta Fri 15-Mar-13 13:04:46

they do look very orthopaedic

Algorta Fri 15-Mar-13 13:05:29

Possibly a bit unfortunate for the older wearer.

KatoPotato Fri 15-Mar-13 13:06:12

Me neither! Where is the for sale section?
