Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing Lotion taken off with warm wet facecloth £3.49 for 250ml
Aldi Lacura Naturals Day Cream and Night Cream £3.99 each

I'm never buying expensive stuff again - these products rock. I actually can't believe how much better my skin is!

MrsDoomsPatterson Sat 23-Feb-13 18:37:58

argh! Sudocreme gave me a huge spot. Have bought the Botanics bright cleanser and some soft John Lewis cloths so will see how that goes...

Dilidali Fri 22-Feb-13 09:06:05

I've either been completely swamped by the smell, or it wore off by the morning, i couldn't smell it!
I have a toothpaste like tube ofsudocream, not the tub, feels slightly less solid
Did not use coconut oil, I have some bio oil, the orange bottle. Beforehand I gave it a good cleanse with a flannel and a clarins foaming cleanser I had as a sample, and then put the bio oil.

I cannot believe that something as sticky as Sudocrem can be good for your face!

I bought the Aldi creams and, while I like the texture and how they suit my skin, I hate the smell so much I had to stop using it sad

MechanicalTheatre Thu 21-Feb-13 22:40:02

<sniffs at face> doesn't smell of Sudocrem right now, can't say I really noticed if it did in the morning!

I pretty much slathered it on then exfloiated in the morning. I'm currently using Soap and Glory Scrub your Nose in it which really helps my pores.

bubbles1231 Thu 21-Feb-13 22:34:37

ooh I'm going to try the sudocrem. have bought the aldi stuff on the recommendation of you ladies. smile

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE Thu 21-Feb-13 22:32:12

How much did you use Mechanical? Did your face still smell in the morning?

MechanicalTheatre Thu 21-Feb-13 22:30:45

Well did the sudocrem facial yesterday. I think my pores do look a bit smaller actually.

FamiliesShareGerms Thu 21-Feb-13 21:22:16

How long before the Sudocrem smell wears off the next day?

And where do you get the coconut oil?

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE Thu 21-Feb-13 21:18:59

Hmmm, i'm going to have to try this too I think.

Dilidali Thu 21-Feb-13 07:56:16

Right, it feels quite dry, but is also dried my funny 'looks like I am going back to teenage years' spots as well. My pores look less visible.
I didn't put loads on, at a wound care conference a few years back the rep for sudocream made the point that if you can still see the white you've put too much.
Husband didn't look too horrified, said I look like a geisha lol. Yeah right.
So I shall repeat this next week hoping my face won't fall off.

Dilidali Wed 20-Feb-13 22:22:57

Sudocream facial, hmmm?
Let's see just how much he does love me..I might wake up to a new facebook profile in the morrow tho....
Thanks for the tip,I shall report in the morning.

nightsky how strange we are using same combination smile

I decided to treat myself to a facial and massage las week on a day off work. All espa stuff. Now have three HUGE spots and I haven't had any for months!

The Aldi stuff isn't spf15... But was thinking of using a separat CityBlock style thing once spring comes

MrsDoomsPatterson Wed 20-Feb-13 04:02:18

Great sudocreme tip, thanks!

ElectricMonk Wed 20-Feb-13 02:39:07

Glad it works for you too, ujjayi!

RE Sudocrem facial - I put a thin layer all over face (but don't massage in very much), then thicker blobs on any areas that need extra help (don't rub in). As I mentioned before, a towel you don't like very much is essential if you like your pillowslips to remain their intended colour smile.

ujjayi Wed 20-Feb-13 00:34:38

I just received my first batch of organic virgin coconut oil today - huge pot for a tenner. So far I have used it to remove make up and soothe DS1's eczema. We are both impressed smile

JumpHerWho Tue 19-Feb-13 22:44:37

Ooh might try Sudocrem facial. Can I use the one I use for DS's bum? No I'll get my own one I suppose... <slinks out>

thenightsky Tue 19-Feb-13 22:32:46

I've been using the same as OP and my skin is much better now... Boots Botanics All Bright make up remover, then the facial wash, followed by Aldi Naturals Night Cream and their Lacura serum for mature skin as day cream (the one in the pump bottle).

I discovered Sudocrem last summer when I came over all patchy with red dry bits. I don't do regular facials, just slap some on overnight as the first hint of dryness.

MechanicalTheatre Tue 19-Feb-13 22:30:44

Sudocreme facial, eh? Sounds good, love sudocreme. I will try it immediately.

Thanks for the other tips too, will go to Boots and Aldi tomorrow.

<decisive>

civilfawlty Tue 19-Feb-13 22:26:21

A thick layer of sudocrem or rubbed in?

JoyceDivision Tue 19-Feb-13 22:21:25

Does the Aldi lacura stuff have an SPF?

I used to use Boots perfectand protect, but found it was rubbish!!

AuntieMaggie Sat 16-Feb-13 16:59:52

I love aldi face cream its great! Have been using their facewash too.

I've stopped buying expensive stuff too - used to use clinique and my skin is no better infact better than it was!

Dillydollydaydream Sat 16-Feb-13 16:54:32

So going to have to try this Sudocrem facial malarkey now!

catinboots Sat 16-Feb-13 07:02:09

Sudocreme facial is The Best

rumbelina Sat 16-Feb-13 06:57:17

And yy to the sudocrem facial. Great stuff.

rumbelina Sat 16-Feb-13 06:56:48

I use Johnson's baby soothing naturals intense moisture for my face these days and its great. It's about £2.30.

I do use a dermalogica cleanser though as its the only one I've found that doesn't bring me out in spots. But I buy big bottles that last a while so it doesn't work out too bad.
