and since they were re released i have been wanting some for ages and gave in and bought some today blush

anyway, am i too old? and what can i wear them with? (and DON'T say a tracksuit.......) grin

They're amazing, I'm really quite envious.

They would look good with grey skinnies, or a black jersey maxi skirt.

Saying you were 12 years old in the nineties still gives me a lot of scope to guess your age.smile

No, you're not too old to wear them.

I have no idea what to wear them with - trousers, jeans..?!

MoodyDidIt Mon 11-Feb-13 18:34:26

aww thanks gin,. was expecting people to hate them tbh grin

and wowoo i was 12 in '92, put it that way ;) am 33 but feel and dress about 20

I so want them trainers!
I would wear them with skinny jeans or normal jeans.
Enjoy your new trainers smile

I want some too, and I am a few years older than you. To make them look more sophisticated, I would wear them with something sleek and black, like a polo neck and pencil skirt or dark denim skirt.

Why not a baggy pair of low slung combats and a kookai crop top, with an Adidas sweatshirt knotted insouciantly around your waist? That's how I wore mine.

Seriously though, I like the black maxi idea.

ha! me too amber grin

thanks for the ideas so far!

keep em coming!!

magicrat Tue 12-Feb-13 12:49:51

I am older than you and own 45 pairs of trainers including 3 pairs of AirMax 90s so you are definitely not too old! Wear them with jeans.

MoodyDidIt Wed 13-Feb-13 08:07:24

oh wow magicrat i am jealous!! grin

QueefLatina Wed 13-Feb-13 09:26:50

I'd wear them with black skinnies or leather look leggings, thin slouchy t shirt and a blazer.

I want some now!

RobinSparkles Wed 13-Feb-13 09:31:17

I'm seriously contemplating getting some high tops but the juniors at school wear them and I don't want them to think that I'm an oldie trying to be "down with the kids".

I might get some after reading this thread! grin

MoodyDidIt Wed 13-Feb-13 09:47:24

oh YES queef that sounds an amazing look

and robin, get some!! which ones do you want? i have the nike high tops with a wedge heel and i love them. i would like some hi top nike air jordans as well blush wish us women didnt stress too much about a)what others think and b)whether we are too old for stuff

(altho am guilty of this too, clearly grin )

WowOoo Wed 13-Feb-13 11:10:08

Moody - it's simple. Don't stress about what other people think or if you're too old.

People don't usually think to themselves 'oh, she's too old for that'. They're usually thinking about something else entirely. (That's what I believe anyway)

I am far older than you and I own lots of trainers. Slightly less than magicrat envygrin

LillethTheCat Wed 13-Feb-13 11:45:48

My MIL wears trainers she's in her 60's and Ive never thought she was too old for them. I personally dont wear trainers, but I never really have.

er1507 Wed 13-Feb-13 12:12:27

looooveee them! def with black leather look jeggings, river island do an amzkng pair! or just normal black leggings, loose t shirt and a black leather biker?

mumblechum1 Wed 13-Feb-13 12:19:25

I have them and I'm 50.

I only wear them in the gym though grin

MoodyDidIt Wed 13-Feb-13 16:09:34

Lol mumblechum

dh said that, he went, hmmm hmm they are ok for the gym i guess but he is untrendy

i am loving the idea of wearing them with leather look leggings .....

YellowAndGreenAndRedAndBlue Wed 13-Feb-13 16:12:47

I had some similar back in the day, I loved them.

I am convinced I looked amazing in those with a long skirt (not entirely sure what a maxi skirt means, I have wandered in here by mistake).

MoodyDidIt Wed 13-Feb-13 16:33:59

Ha i think i wore mine with a maxi skirt too back in the day think it was denim blush

i am wearing them now, i love them, they are soooooo comfy....cant go out in em today though as its snowing and i need to keep them box-fresh lookin' wink

YellowAndGreenAndRedAndBlue Wed 13-Feb-13 16:37:46

They were the comfiest shoes I ever owned I think

piratecat Wed 13-Feb-13 16:47:12

i like them too, I have just got some new trainers and wore mine with black leggings and slouchy top and shorter jacket. My dd assured me i looked cool. It felt so weird not having boots on with leggings, but it also felt like a new look too.!

MoodyDidIt Wed 13-Feb-13 17:04:53

how old are you piratecat

that outfit sounds lovely...what kind of jacket?

piratecat Wed 13-Feb-13 18:26:42

i am 44! devotee of the Adidas Superstar (shell toe) for 20 yr now, but have just bought some different ones.

I think any jacket goes tbh, i have a lightweight blazery type one and my new jacket is a fitted black one, the slightly padded ones about at the moment. Like i used to wear horse riding when i was 12 lol. Couldn't find a nice green or blue one, but i found this one in Sports Direct for £15, it's a Kangol one and understated but nice length, just on hips. Think they are still on there.

I do need to invest in some trainer socks tho! Im bringing back the trainer to my life!
