Wedding in April. I have this dress (before you go dissing, it looks much much better on)

Bombshell

It's black and petrol blue/green. I'm not sure black shoes and cardi would be suitable, though I'm not totally against black I just think it might be too officey. I need shoes and a cover up but not a pashmina please. Budget isn't great as there are 5 of us to deck out and flights, hotels, care hire blah blah blah. Don't live in the uk but most places deliver here anyway.

I am clueless and need help andI mean totally clueless.

That's nice! Would you be happy yo play up the slight vintage feel it has?

Shoe wise, what size are you? There's still stuff in the sales I think.

How about a grey velvet jacket?

Or black velvet?

Choose textures that won't be officey whatever the colour- velvet, faux fur, suede... gold accessories would work well.

Which country are you in, or what temperature will it be?

Wedding is in northeast England, so probably cold and damp, we're in Sweden so can get hold of most stuff online.

I love the vintage look, the dress oozes 50s glamour, I jus don't have any in my wardrobe!

Love that black bolero, I'm not petite though, size 16 and
5'10 with size 41 feet.

Do you think black accessories would be ok then?

Excellent. Black accessories would be good I think. Grey could end up frumpy.

shoes? I'm always rattling on about seamed stockings / tights, but they'd be great with this dress.

Those shoes are divine.
Ok so black bolero type jacket in velvet or something equally luxe, those black patent shoes and gold jewellery. Now tights, would they need to be nude? They would wouldn't they?

Oh and jewlery. GOld would be good but only if it suits your skin tone. What do you usually wear, gold or silver?

If you do do gold. bag? bag?

Ooh, ooh and another ooh!

Most of my jewellery is gold so that's perfect. Starting to feel less panicky now, thank you :)

I like the dress -it looks like a dress it up dress. You could probably do plumb, blue or pink shoes/jacket/bag or stick to black then add a big pop of colour with a massive corsage or hat (think Carrie from sex in the city) - got be feel comfy though, hate feeling like you're dressed as someone else.

Thinking massive corsage too - thank you

And if I can find a decent teeth whitener, red lipstick ;)

Yes, I meant to ask about headwear.

this would be fab but it's probably too pricey.

No need for white teeth for red lippy! The right colour will make your teeth look whiter on it;s own. If you're near a MAC counter Ruby Woo and Russian Red are well worth a try.

Wasn't going to wear a headpiece. Have shoulder length v dark brown hair, was going to put waves in it and perhaps just an embellished hair grip. Thanks for the MAC tip, I have a feeling I have the Russian Red at the back of my make up drawer!

Have to go to bed now, but thank you all SO much for your ideas!
