Big thighs and trousers, what styles suit?

I have tree sized large thighs and I want to find styles to suit me and them, there's no personal shopping/stylisty people in striking distance so I'm hoping that you wonderful s&b ladies could give me some pointers?

My oversize thighs and I thank you in advance Grin

I too have big thighs!
Slimmer looking fits often work better especially if they have some stretch in the fabric. Ignore the people who say bootcuts are not stylish - they are good for balancing the proportions of your leg. Straight legs also good. Skinnies work best tucked into chunky ankle boots as once again it balances things a bit.

Avoid flares and boyfriend style like the plague - too much material swishing around the bottom half of your leg just seems to emphasize big thighs. Wide leg trousers a total no no for the same reason. In jeans avoid too much fading down the front - solid colours better IMO. And avoid patterns and anything shiny. Cropped styles make the bottom half of your leg look shorter which can make thighs look bigger than they are

Would be good to know your budget but in the past I have had success in Wallis, Oasis, Monsoon etc. M&S have chinos ATM that I tried and thought were ok. Lots of people on here swear by the M&S jeggings but they don't work on me.

You just need to try on loads. Helps if you can wear even a small heel - I find even an inch makes a difference in giving a longer leg effect.

Thanks Liberty I don't have much of a budget, but I'll be willing to spend more if I can get some trousers to suit my thighs and are long enough to fit in the leg too.

I do wear skinnies with knee high boots at the moment as they're easiest to tuck in, but these aren't the most flattering cut on my poor thighs Blush

I'll have a look at some bootlegs and I now avoid flares after some hefty fashion faux pas in my teens- bright pink cord flares are only suited to the clothing bins! Grin

I have the same problem and agree with libertychick. The best jeans by far have been levi's skinny bootcut, esp in dark indigo. In fact I've just bought a second identical pair as my old ones were fading a bit. My legs have always been about my worst feature and I actually get compliments about having skinny legs when I wear them! Especially with a long top well over the hips, and high/platform boots.
