I'm not usually on S&B threads, but having lost a considerable amount of weight, my back size has dropped from 36" to 27" (and may drop further). I hope the wisdom of MN can point me in the direction of a bra shop or supplier who sells 26GG (or thereabouts) as my poor neglected norks are heading inexorably southwards in my current 30Gs.
I found corsets that do the trick, but these are not exactly a suitable everyday option.
You see! nominate
mirai There is a bra guide on here already. It could do with a little more info regarding fit and shape but I don't think I write well enough to offer my services. I nomiate StatisticallyChallenged or HazelNutt
I don't know if this is any help, but I recently bought a Debenhams Gorgeous bra. I'm normally always a 32, sometimes even a 32 is not tight enough, but with all the Debenhams Gorgeous bras I tried on, I needed to go up a back size and down a cup size to get a good fit. They go down to a 28 back, so if those come up small, they might be an option for you?
I use panache tango bras. I am 34L but they may do smaller back, very strong bras too
I am a 27 back and comfortably wear 28(E). My bras are from Freya, Fantasie and RP. For smaller backs, the choice sucks and is expensive! Good luck.
A smaller bra campaign along with advice on how to REALLY measure your bra size would be fantastic. Much like BIWI gave advice on low carbs, I think they should ask Sorrel to write a page on finding the right bra size and how to measure yourself! So many people would have an ephiphany!
Just checked my Prima Doña bras and they are both a 32G. The band feels the same as my 30s so they come up a but small.
Another vote for PrimaDonna here. They definitely go up to at least a G cup, but not sure how small the back sizes go.
I like Fauve, R&P and Prima Doña but none of them are cheap unfortunately. Also a fan of Cleo, Ewa Michalak and Gorgeous (Debenhams).
So what do you buy now Sorrel? I'm willing to give anything a try as long as it doesn't cost £££s
I'm a 30G and have given up with Freya and Fantasie. They just don't fit right!
I'm a 30G and mostly buy Freya, Fantasie and Bravissimo. I've never been able to solve the digging in under the arm pit issue.
I'm another small back/big boob gal. I'm currently in 28G from bravissimo, but I agree about them still being cut the same. They dig in under my armpits often
That's a great idea.
Just giving this a bump as there seem to be a few big cup small back gals about tonight.
I have asked MNHQ if they could start a smaller back bra campaign, ideally with product test but it will be more likely to happen the more of us that show an interest.
I'm a 27 under and tend to buy a 28 as 26 is so hard to find. I'm currently wearing a 28E which fits really nicely and buy bras from Brastop.com. The Gorteks range seem to come up on the smaller side.
my 30GGs are from figleaves. I'm sort of holding off buying until I know I've finished losing weight, as I've spent a fortune on bras tis year, all of which are now ill fitting, but fit for long enough I couldn't send them back (usually a month).
Have you tried figleaves? I'm currently a 30FF (breastfeeding) and ordered a selection in different styles and returned the ones that didn't fit very well.
I'm still measuring a 10" difference between under and over, I seem to be losing weight evenly in that respect. 27 under, 37 over.
Is your cup size still GG? Did you remeasure under and over?
I'm a 34F but will add my voice to your call for a bigger band size range as the sooner manufacturers stop stocking just 32-36 A-D as the "standard" in 90% of places the better.
I already find that my (clearly far too big) 30GGs are too broad at the front. The cups go round to the back of my armpits, and I can get my entire hand under the chest band easily.
Surely I'm not the slimmest woman around, high streets sell clothes I couldn't dream of shoe-horning myself into. There must be a fair percentage of the bra-purchasing population uncatered for.
Today, I will contact major bra shops and ask that they consider smaller band sizes as there is clearly a market for them.
The problem is that bravissimo etc just make the same bras with smaller back straps.
They don't fit comfortably because the middle bit is too wide and digs in. If you are a 26 GG you have natural cleavage.
I don't think they accept refunds on custom made orders but IME the bras come up quite small in the back. You could search for a 28 on eBay and try for fit or order one in a 28 from EM and then resell it on eBay if no good.
Aren't they in Poland? What happens if it doesn't fit correctly?
Try Ewa Michalak as they will custom make small back sizes.
