My under eye shadows are determined to be noticed even with a layer of touché éclat followed by foundation on top.

Anyone know of a good concealer for the under eye area?

Thanks Poly. Its expensive but I suppose not loads more than the Ysl. Will def try it when my current one finishes.

I get great results from LilyLolo's Peepo - it's a powder you brush under your eye.

This is the By Terry one

Another vote here for this and all her products. Well worth the money and last for ages.

I'd go into a Space NK and get advice on the right colour and what if anything to put on with it.

Please can someone link to the By Terry one? I might upgrade from the ysl one I have used since I was 22 (am now 37).

What do you wear on top of By Terry? I love it, but don't wear foundation, so it tends lo kook white. I have porcelain, which maybe is too light?

rootypig Tue 25-Jun-13 18:00:52

oh foundation advice - try YSL Teint Eclat. extraordinary.

BaconAndAvocado Tue 25-Jun-13 17:57:29

gobblers that looks v good, I think there were instructions in the Erase Paste box, which I have now thrown away, so thanks for link smile

NARS radiant creamy something or other. Can never remember the name but it's amazing - new this year.

This is the triangle concealer trick. I recomend it so often I have it bookmarked.

This will make so much difference, regardless of what concealer you use. (Though don't try it with a highlighter pen, like Touche Eclat).

After all the great advice here I splashed out on some Benefit Erase Paste.

Very very excellent.

Am also trialling some high end foundations. Clinique and Double wear by EL.

Both gorgeous so don't know which to choose! Think I prefer Clinique as an overall brand, it's a bit younger than EL? (I am only 43!!)

Any advice?

It's amazing now that I'm middleaged (eek,,sad but true) and I'm 43 , just how much longer it takes to look half decent and the fact that I now never ever leave the house without make up on!!

Getting old is crap......

MarianForrester Fri 01-Feb-13 19:52:46

Oh, and then the rest of my make up, of course, that's a whole other thread smile

MarianForrester Fri 01-Feb-13 19:51:51

I always do mine after foundation. Then cream blusher, dust of powder, gorgeous grin

Well, at least looking better than knackered old crone with young children that I am....

BaconAndAvocado Fri 01-Feb-13 19:17:21

Ohh, that's an interesting idea isabelle, will give it a go tomorrow morning!

IsabelleRinging Fri 01-Feb-13 12:35:02

I think you should try applying your concealer after your foundation, if you apply before it will just get rubbed off an smudged around when you put your foundation on.

Mr Light by Givenchy. Such a hidden secret! It is sooooo better than touché éclat!!!! I think it's around £20 but it's honestly amazing

FruitOwl Fri 01-Feb-13 11:40:13

I like Lancome long-lasting softening concealer. It's around £14 and a tube lasts ages!

Taffeta Fri 01-Feb-13 11:30:18

At 40 I graduated from Touché Éclat to Bobbi Brown.

I use a really cheap one from Maybelline called dream lumi touch. Does the trick.

winefairy Fri 01-Feb-13 10:58:18

Agree that By Terry lasts for ages. Had mine for well over a year, maybe two before it ran out. Lasts far, far longer than Touche Eclat. I was seriously impressed.

IsabelleRinging Fri 01-Feb-13 07:41:14

I use a MAC one in a little squeezy tube (can't remember it's name), really good shades which match to skin tone, also, Christian Dior do one which is even better, that also comes in a small blue squeezy tube and you have to go to the counter and ask them for it as they never seem to keep it on display. It lasts forever. I know these things as always look like I've been punched in the face my bags are so blue.

The Terry one does last forever. I think I've had mine for two years and use it every day.

MarianForrester Thu 31-Jan-13 22:33:23

The By Terry one is ridiculously expensive, but it really does last for ages. I got mine early summer last year and still going.

sillymillyb Thu 31-Jan-13 20:27:39

Benefit is £19.50 I think which is still on the pricey side - its lasts me a good 6 months though and I don't use it sparingly!

BaconAndAvocado Thu 31-Jan-13 19:48:14

Had a look on By Terry website but probably a bit too pricey for me at the mo, trying to cut back!

How much would the Benefit concealer be?

Thanks for suggestions smile
