I would like to buy one for DD for her birthday. She has thick, down-to-the-middle-of-her-back hair and it's wavy. She will be 9.

She has to have it tied back for school so I need a good brush that I can use to get it into a ponytail quickly easily without too much pulling if you know what I mean!

I'd like to get her a proper brush but am thrown by the choice.

Exactly, Primark aren't struggling in the recession their thriving so there's nothing wrong. Woolworths must have been struggling, they certainly weren't expanding and improving their stores and although Woolworths ceased trading on the shop floor Woolworths still exists online.

Thank you all - you've convinced me wink

I know it's perhaps an odd present choice but at £55 it's not something we will just 'acquire'. Good to hear that some of you have treasured yours. Let's hope DD feels the same.
