Clothes you've bought then spotted a celebrity wearing

What items have you bought that you've then spotted on a sleb? Was it somebody fashionable or a saddo?

I bought a dress from oasis to wear to a wedding. Then spotted on Gillian mckeith. Needless to say, it went straight to the charity shop.

A work top spotted on Sonia Jackson and Tracey Barlow (the characters not the actresses). Couldn't wear it knowing that I had the same clothes as frumpy Sonia.

Many years ago, when I was young and daft I had some beautiful Jimmy Choo shoes. I spotted them on Naomi Campbell and Liz Hurley.

I unfortunately trashed mine by wearing them out clubbing.

I had a beautiful monsoon cardigan that I saw Lorraine Kelly wearing.
After that it just made me feel mumsy so I gave it to my sister who hadn't seen LK wearing it and still loved it.

I was most upset last year, when I discovered that Alex Gerrard had the same pram as me, although in a different colour.

So that probably cancels out my shoe claim :o

I bought a dress in Selfridges last week and the sales assistant was at pains to tell me Katie Price had come in and tried it on. I still bought it!

I have the same padded coat as Katie Holmes, I'm sure of it. The funniest is when I saw Peter Kaye's Geraldine in the same Zara dress as me, gutted!

A top that I loved until Eileen in Corrie wore it. As a kid I saw a pair of leggings I had on one of the PG Tips chimps.

I bought the cream dress with the ruffle down the front that Kate Middleton wore for the engagement photos. I had bought it online and found it too big, then they sold out instantly so I sold mine on ebay for a fortune! (It went to Japan)

My first MAC lippy. Saw Pete Burns wearing it on CBB.

Went right off MAC.

Not a celeb but the glee wardrobe people clearly shopped in babygap for the adopted girl last season, DD had a few matching outfits.
We also have the same pram as Natalie Cassidy, every time I see a pic of her with it I want to scream that she's got the front wheel in backwards.

I had a nice but unexceptional draped patterned viscose summer work dress from the HOF sale which I saw on a middle aged (perhaps 5 years older than me) consultant psychiatrist on a documentary about OCD. She seemed nice, but I didn't hear a word she said because I was too busy thinking "does it look good on her? Is she the same shape as me? Is it ok for me to wear the same thing as this older woman? Should I style it the same way she has?"

Oh and I bought a lovely flowery shirt for DS in the Next sale which he adored. We called it his James May shirt because it was the sort of thing JM wore. The BBC then did an advert for Top Gear playing on the fact that the presenters are overgrown boys, with children playing the roles of "junior JC/JM/RH". Inevitably the mini James was wearing DS's "James May shirt" and we were irrationally happy and excited about this.

Fizz and Izzy from Corrie appear to share my wardrobe. I've yet to see them in Dot Perks Smile

Went to see the Stone Roses last summer, dressed for an outside evening gig during British summer so wearing Hunter wellies and a very bright blue polar quilt Barbour international, already a fashion crime in mumsnet terms. One of the supports was Plan B. He started proceedings in a suit, but part way through the set disappeared and changed into a blue quilted jacket. Now I don't believe it was actually a Barbour but this did not stop DH and everyone else I was with roundly taking the piss. Jacket is now known, particularly to my teenage sons, as the Plan B jacket and I haven't really brought myself to wear it since.

I bought a top from next in the sale that I wore for drinks and nibbles at ours on NYE.

I then spotted it on a chavvy lottery winner on a tv ad. Does that count? Looked horrendous on her, I hope it looked slightly better on me. Sad

Years - Spice Girls era - ago I had really funky pair of NOSE skate shoes in red & turquoise, that I later spotted Brad Pitt in.
I loved those shoes, they made me feel like a cartoon character Smile.

About 5 years ago, I had a beautiful black tunic dress with a pattern round the neck/cuffs and a paisley print around the hem. Wore it a few times then Heat magazine printed a pic of Kate Moss wearing it, which a colleague torn out and stuck on the wall at work. A few weeks later, an H&M cardigan (ceruleum blue with black love hearts) I owned was featured in the mag on a different celeb. I wasn't impressed.

Most recently, I had the Whistles Bella blue print dress Kate Middleton has. I'd never worn it as I wasn't sure about it and then when she was photographed wearing it, I went off it completely. Sold it on ebay for the exact price I paid for it although could probably have made heaps more as at that stage, Whistles hadn't reissued it.
