after harping on about only wearing tinted moisturiser cos it looks more natural I tried dd's YSL foundation and it is AMAZING!!

Looks v natural , stays put on my oily t-zone cos it has a gel base and a primer already in it . Passes my 5x magnifying mirror test.

I know I loved bare minerals before but this is my new love , thoroughly recommend!!!

Update: 7hrs and no primer and it's still intact ! I have concluded that I do need the touche eclat or equivalent under the eyes though.

I use YSL bd50 which is a med beige shade.
I was a bare minerals med beige or fairly light in the winter .

The YSL one is medium-light coverage , it covers my open pores but you can still see some of my thread veins , I do prefer to beable to see my skin
. It's very flattering cos I think it has illuminating stuff in it already which I usually steer well clear of because it usually highlights all my pores and lines..but this doesn't .
Really really nice and also works under my eyes as well.

I think there are a lot of shades. I was impressed by the one selected for me. Would suggest you try and get a decent sized sample

Tell me about shades - I wear Bare Minerals fairly light normally but its starting to look a bit powdery esp round eyes.

Does it disguise open pores at all?

I loved this foundation but couldn't get a good enough colour match. I'm now using No.7 Lift and Luminate.

Does it have good coverage? I still get spots and struggle to keep them covered up.

I was told the primer bit as well. I have stopped using primer and my T zone is oily usually.

Ah thanks

I can't find anywhere that says it but that's what sales assistant told me ,cos I was about to go and buy prep and prime when she said there's no need .
I may well find that I do need one ...will update.

I didn't know the bit about ysl acting as a primer too. Where does it say that? If I could stop buying prep and prime I could blow that money on something else wink wink

Oh yes. YSL is the best.

justasecond Fri 04-Jan-13 23:13:00

I love it too, its ace. I have a greasy t zone and it does stay put.

ggirl Fri 04-Jan-13 22:34:22

I didn't like dior nude , didn't look natural on my skin for some reason.

QuinnFabray Fri 04-Jan-13 22:27:33

Tempted. I quite like Dior Nude. Not the best staying power on my oily's, but certainly not the worst. Seems like if I like Dior Nude I might like this. Can't imagine not needing a primer though.

ggirl Fri 04-Jan-13 22:15:38

also bought MAC paint pot , supposed to be good for greasy eyelids

ggirl Fri 04-Jan-13 22:12:58

It stays put on mine quinn , which is nothing short of a miracle tbh.

QuinnFabray Fri 04-Jan-13 21:44:08

Does it really stay put on oily skin? Lots of reviews say not.

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 04-Jan-13 21:06:32

Thanks smile It comes from my Liverpool Uni days.

knitknack Fri 04-Jan-13 20:59:43

ooh Ken I love your name! I used to live just down the road from that graffiti! smile

KenDoddsDadsDog Fri 04-Jan-13 20:57:33

I use that too, it's amazing

CharlW1 Fri 04-Jan-13 20:57:17

Fab - thanks will definitely be buying it!

ggirl Fri 04-Jan-13 20:55:06

IfYoureHappy- I was using Nude prior to YSL too. I squeezed the last drop out (though i bet there is still loads at the bottom of the bottle- can't unscrew it), and got the YSL based on that same review. V impressed. Charl- it is YSL Touche Eclat foundation

I have been testing it after seeing the Sali Hughes review. Agree that tis v good. I will be buying it when my beloved Dior Nude runs out.
