My mum really wants some for Christmas and my friend is going next week. Is it worth asking her?

If you definitely know which size she needs then they'd probably be cheaper in the US. I bought mine there years ago and they were cheaper back then. I think what with the exchange rate you'd do well

Yes - definitely cheaper. Also worth looking at the outlet malls. I almost bought a tall pair of black Uggs last year in Florida - £100.

If it was me going I would be trawling the outlets but, it's New York at Xmas it would be asking too much!! I think I'll look online and try and compare.

Yes definitely. My brother got me a pair from Florida probably four years ago now. They were £140 over here and I paid £70 including taxes.
Prices have gone up since i bought and the exchange rate isnt as good. But I looked in to it when a friend visited recently. The ones I got would now work out about £90-100 but they're now £165 in the UK.
I think the taxes depends on the state you're in but don't think it differed massively

Don't know if you are anywhere near buy there is an ugg outlet store in bicester Oxfordshire which could be worth look.

As OP's have said ^^ yes they are. I was in NY in October and bought 2 pairs. The tall ones in black were approx £100 and some short ones that they stopped doing in adult sizes from the kid's section for £70. If your Mum is a small size she may fit into a child's size (they go up to a UK 5) which will make them cheaper still

They will be cheaper. I bought my mums in Boston last year, broadly they were about 1/3 cheaper including the tax. Don't waste time finding an outlet, they're too far out and you'll still be quids in if you buy on Manhatten.

Check out Bloomingdales, and make sure you pop up to the concierge and get a 10% discount voucher.

Man, I LOVE Bloomingdales.

Oh! And tell your bank you're going to avoid spending all the money you could be saving on the phone trying to answer security questions

Just checked, there are 3 UGG stores on Manhatten. Head for the one on Mercer in Greenwich. Shoppings miles better (except my beloved Bloomingdales) round there anyway, more consolidated and great places to eat.

She's staying at the holiday inn in that very area!

MIIIIILES cheaper. Just brought some back for my niece - 199 euros in Ireland, $135 in USA (about 103 euros). Roughly half the price - and she couldn't get the colour she wanted in Ireland. I even got them from Saks Fifth Avenue, which is not exactly a Bargain Basement store.

Lighthouse tell her good choice. We stay in mid-town because of Dh work, but honestly Greenwich/soHo/Tribecca sooo much more fun and I think much more representative of New York.

I'm told that there's an overland garden down there that's recently opened on what was the overhead railway that serviced the meat packing district. Furious I missed that.

Blooming dales now deliver to the uk, but you had to pay the tax so I don't know if that woud be worth it?

Is the park you meant - the high line or something like that ? Old elevated train line

Just back from the states - they're definitely a fair chunk cheaper in the US. Nordstrom have some styles on sale at the moment so you could order them to a hotel if they have something you like.

Also soletrader outlet and brandalley usually have discounted uggs so might be worth looking there if you don't want to wait for them from the US.
