I don't usually post on here but just wondering if anyone who ordered from Red Direct during the 40% off sale has had any problems with their orders?

I ordered a Michael Kors watch, Alex Monroe horseshoe necklace and a Cath Kidston girls umbrella on Thursday evening and all were showing as being in stock and were still in stock the following evening.

I used express delivery but had not received anything so I emailed customer services. I have just had a reply saying unfortunately the items I ordered are out of stock and my order has been cancelled.

So annoying! If they had contatced me to say the items were out of stock I would have reordered a different watch and necklace while the sale was still on.

I've not received any of my stuff either - also ordered Thursday night, the items I ordered were still all showing in stock on Friday so it would be really irritating if I didn't get any of them.

I would say so to them and ask them to honour the 40% off on different products. That's pretty poor of them.

I am going to email them again with a complaint. The payment is showing as a pending payment on my card and had I not emailed them I would still be expecting to receive my order.

I am also going to ask re honouring the 40% off, although not sure if anything I would have ordered is actually still in stock.

No idea why they extended the 40% off if they were sold out of many of certain items already!

I've just seen the offer is still on too.... just says ends midnight (every day)...

Fuming- I too ordered a Michael Kors watch last Friday. The watch was in stock and I received my order confirmation.
I haven't received any further emails so just rang to check.....they have cancelled the order!!! Didn't even advise me..I had to ring them!!!
They state it is out of stock. This is so unfair as by placing the order with Red I didnt take up other store discount codes and they are now past.
Awaiting a supervisor to ring me back!

I have phoned up as ordered two items on Thurs and Fri of last week and not heard anything. One is coming to me (the Thurs one) but one is not (this is a Michael Kors watch) I did get to speak to a supervisor who explained that they had only received confirmation today that they the suppliers were not able to supply it. I queried why the item in question was showing in stock when ordered and also on subsequent days. After going round in circles it appears that they have been swamped with sales and their systems have not been able to cope.

All in all very poor customer service. Why show something as in stock when you don't actually have the stock? Why say it is a 24 hour 40% off offer and then extend it for days at a time, especially when you know there are stock issues? Why didn't Red Direct discontinue the offer or at least put some warnings on the system that it is subject to stock avaialability to at least alert customers to the fact?

Like Sydney96 I would have ordered from other retailer with a discount code but their offer have now expired.

I would strongly advise any one who has placed an order to contact Red Direct to see if it has been fulfilled, especially if as in my case it was a Xmas present. Xmas Angry

I have just discovered that RedDirect have cancelled my order for a watch too, saying there is no stock. They did not tell me, nor would it appear that they were planning to. Just cancelled it! Despite it still showing on my red direct account as confirmed and 'paid'. Seems my only recourse is to send in an email as they were not even prepared for me to speak to anyone else about it.
This has really put me off ordering anything from Red Direct, what terrible customer service.

I'm still fuming! Angry, but at the same time I'm on a mission to get it as a Christmas present, so I've found a place that has the Michael Kors watch in stock, it's more expensive (£122) than with the 40% deal at RD off but you can get an additional 12% cashback by using this link:

I rang to complain and asked if I could place another order using the 40% discount and that was a noAngry.

The watches I really liked are sold out anyway. If anyone else is wanting a Michael Kors chronograph Amazon has some with quite good discounts. I'll have a look on the site linked above too Smile

Ooh, I didn't notice the 40% off was still on when I had a look earlier. Wonder why customer services said I couldn't use it, they're useless! Doubt theres anything I want left.

Jumpinghoops you've got me worried. I didn't think to check with credit card company to see if they had debited my account for cancelled order.

Was in a good mood today until Red Direct struck.

Yep same thing happened to me, ordered thursday evening and item was in stock, emailed yesterday to ask when I can expect delivery and had reply todaybtelling me my order has been cancelled as it is out of stock. Wonder if they would have bothered to tell me had I not emailed?

Just a quick bit of advice for those of you from whom Red Direct have taken payment despite cancelling your orders: if you paid by credit card, you should be able to raise a dispute over the payment by contacting your credit card provider. It might be worth doing to speed things up if you get no joy with contacting Red Direct.

Thanks for this. My order was for several low value items (gifts for children), and see that my CC has been charged for less than the invoice amount, so have emailed them and let them know I was alerted to the issue from here.

Looks like they just had no idea what hit them.
