You need a series of treatments & then less often to maintain. There are different strengths/ settings they can use so shouldn't be too harsh ever smile

I've got a book called Wheat belly by William Davis M.D. and it is a real eye opener; he reckons that wheat (even wholemeal organic) causes a vast number of health problems including acne. It's worth giving it up for a while and seeing how you go. There are lots of wheat free products now!

This probably isnt very revolutionary advice, but I ditched all make-up brushes and puffs, all powder (inc bronzer and blusher) and cut out most fruit (snacked on carrot and cucumber instead) and it did seem to help.

Have you tried microdermabrasion? No chemicals in that
I was having chemical peels until I got pg. They really worked for me. Have microdermabrasion now until I can go back to the peels

Echoing others, what makes a difference for me is keeping sugar and dairy to a minimum. I was 10 years older than you when I figured it out.

No, not more protein! It makes you lose weight.

The solution is actually more carbs. Safe carbs which doesn't make you break out. Dairy is an excellent fattener but perhaps try eating a lot of fruit instead...? See what works for you.

Dazed in my opinion the products you've mentioned in your last post would be too strong for your skin and strip it rather than nourish it. I wouldn't put anything by Lush on my face, stick it in the bath!

Cleansing balms and oils are fine to use when you have acne.

Check Caroline's blog, she goes into great detail and is easy to read smile

Tea tree oil and zinc are the best natural remedies for acne. Avoid the food which contains more glyemic, such as fruit juice, baked potatoes, cheese foods.

I have found that if I eat something containing palm oil, I get two big ugly spots within about twenty minutes. I now read ingredients very carefully indeed. I am yet to link any other dietry substances though.

I'm also a huge fan of Caroline Hirons, she advocates upping your fish oil intake and I take 5000mg a day, actually I use Krill Oil as I read it was more potent. I'm 44 and consider my skin to be very good especially since reading her blog and taking on board what she says.

Keep sugar to a minimum along with red meat.

What really helped for me was starting zinc supplements and omega oil supplements (I used Udo's choice oil added to my food initially, now use ground flax seeds).

Coincidentally (or maybe not?) a year after starting to take these regularly I became pregnant, having been told I never would (and after many, many years of not using contraception).

I also used a very mild salicylic acid based cleanser.

My skin used to be terrible and sugar made it worse. If I eat too much sugar now I can see mini flare ups like I used to have.

The only thing that really, really made a huge difference was pregnancy! Roaccutane cleared it up but didn't really shift it. I was having monthly facials from an American lady which did help. Not the relaxation type facials, but a deep cleansing type.
