I need 1 possibly two hand bags please. 1 for work, smallish and 1 for business travel, slightly larger.
I like orla kiely but have never had the guys to purchase as patterns wold be hard to match every day for work clothes. I always end up buying tan/brown leather.
Last night I got this bag but surely I can find something better for my money?

If I can find 1bag that will go with everything, I would be soooo happy. I have tan shoes but also wear red and black but generally don't like black bags.

I've got Peony & Moore Lucia, Mariella (both bought last year) & maisie bag here (bought last month) has a detachable strap so I wear for work and can remove to make it a clutch in pm. Its been great for work trips..

All fab bags tbh.

I have a modalu pippa that I use for work and business travel and feel good carrying. I have it in 'chilli' which seems to complement most things I wear.

Vanilla-paris website do lovely bags too. They are on the Kings Road in London

My nearest Zara does lovely leather bags that are in the €100- €130 price range- day bags not party bags.

Maybe have a look at this site. I have a Petrolina and the quality is lovely

I agree Sili - classic good quality styles that don't date are what I look for too - you pay a bit more for quality that lasts . .

I usually buy Zara for party stuff, you know, the £25-50 budget use once or a few times a year...

Silibilimili Sat 24-Nov-12 11:28:03

I loooorve Zara bags but they are fashion bags. The price is same as that of a nicer quality company therefore I kind of get put off of buying them as I thjnk I can get something for same price which might last longer. hmm
Not sure if my theory is right... But there we are.

I'll take a look at coach. I live their quality.

Thank you.

I don't like large locks and zips and stuff dangling either. Just saying...

Silibilimili Sat 24-Nov-12 11:23:08

now, I love the olive green.

Will read the other messages now.

Thanks all.

How about Kate spade direct from the us?

nowrinklesonamelon Sat 24-Nov-12 10:46:32

sili lots of people on here have said the quality is excellent and I have one of theirs and love it - yes good quality and a bit more stylish than Radley IMO. Have you seen their Poppi bag - - gorgeous Olive green or Red - its on my Xmas list for DH grin - maybe not what you are looking for though . .

Annoyingly I can't link to the Coach website because it requires flash and I'm on my phone.

If you want leather I'd highly recommend Coach bags. They're so soft but really durable. Even when your toddler spills entire bottles of water over them. <bitter experience>

jcee and OP have you looked at Lonchamp les pilages?

anniewoo Sat 24-Nov-12 09:57:16

Zara do great bags

anniewoo Sat 24-Nov-12 09:56:31

Michael Kors Jetset range. £££'s but if you saved up- could be used for day to day and travel.

Silibilimili Sat 24-Nov-12 09:49:30

jc, nice but impractical for me.

Silibilimili Sat 24-Nov-12 09:48:44

Really like the last one in you link now.

It does not show how big they are. I am only 5.3 so don't suit really large bags or bulky bags.

Will go to house of Fraser and take a look.

I like the peony bags but are they good quality? They look like radley with same price range. Are they just as good in quality?

Jcee Sat 24-Nov-12 09:22:52

What about this?

Halfway house between patterned and plain....

nowrinklesonamelon Sat 24-Nov-12 09:20:58

How about this
or this
or this,default,pd.html?cm_mmc=ShopStyle-_-Bags+%26+Luggage-_-Handbags-_-Donna+Large+Buckle+Satchel

Silibilimili Sat 24-Nov-12 09:19:40

And I am beginning to like oil cloth as they can be wipe clean unlike leather.

Silibilimili Sat 24-Nov-12 09:18:45

I am surprised there isn't or hasn't been decent bags around for 'medium' budgets all years.
I too can't afford the mulberrys but love expensive bags. I think like good shoes, it lifts the whole outfit.
The brand you posted. I've never purchased or seen them before. Are they any good? Lasting?

Jcee Sat 24-Nov-12 09:12:04

Just saw the fox pattern - its lovely!

I have this - there are quite a few patterns And bag designs on amazon by this brand and there might be one you like?

Problem I have is I am too demanding fussy and have champagne tastes with beer money but I'm currently looking for a large bag as I need to carry a load of stuff for a commute (shoes, lunch, book etc) but I also want it to be a shoulder bag. All the ones ive seen have mini handles which are no good with a winter coat and I'm starting to think the only thing that seems to match my requirements is a rucksack which I refuse to buy....

Silibilimili Sat 24-Nov-12 08:57:29

Hmm. Not sure. I like the quirky patterns rather than her stem leaves. They have a fox or a cat I think in JL, I like that one. But it means budget all blown on 1 bag which may not 'go' with everything or look as smart.

What do you like usually?

I like Radleys on other people but are too grannie for me. They are I don't know, a little boring too.

I am taking a lot of business class flight next year starting next week so something smart, and versatile would be good.
