What earrings are you wearing?

Just looking for a new pair of every day earrings. Want to get rid of these boring diamond studs given to me by XP (yeuck!)

Having a look online but not seeing much I like. Like the look of hoops (not too big obvs) but a lot of the stud type earrings are bees/butterflies/dragonflies etc (bit naff?). I don't really like drop earrings at all and will prob need gold/sterling silver as my ears get a bit tetchy with metal.

What do you wear every day? I need inspiration!

I am allergic to nickel so just wear plain gold smallish hoops daily. They are much more comfortable than studs IMO especially to sleep in.

I like big hoops! They are my favourite earrings at the moment. I don't sleep with my earrings in.

I have white gold studs in a scroll design bought by DH a couple of years ago which I wear all the time. Not allowed to wear anything other than studs for work.

Gold sleeper hoops from Argos. They are great. I have a larger pair in the first hole, and a small pair in the second holes. They are very thin hoops, and extremely comfortable. They don't have hinges. here.

I'm sure they used to be cheaper though.

What is wrong with big hoops? Am I committing yet another MN faux pas by wearing them?

Report
JustMeAndTwo · 18/11/2012 13:10

I'm heading towards a pair of hoops and I did actually view that same pair lady

It's not that I don't like big hoops its just that when I wear big hoops they are really big! (think neneh cherry big) just wanted a more every day pair that are also actually gold and not £2.99 from h&m

I would prefer a square cut gold/silver hoop but can't seem to find any (fussy, moi?)

I'm a bit bored of wearing studs now (although would if I found a pair I really liked). Just realised I've turned into MsPractical after having dc and really want to sell get rid of these diamond studs

Yes and I don't mind fake diamonds, nobody can really tell can't they!

Carat fakes are really good. I have real ones but never wear them in case I lose them.....

I wear black Shimla stud earrings and I get a lot of compliments. I like them so much I am going to buy the rose gold pair.

Something like this? Square hoops are quite hard to find!

Report
JustMeAndTwo · 18/11/2012 14:39

no dexter, I'm thinking of round hoop earrings (in shape) but the actual hoop is square cut as opposed to round/tubular. I'm not really explaining very well and can't even find any to link to to show you!

What is rhodium anyway? Is it hypoallergenic?

I have got little silver rose studs in.

I alternate them with silver matte kind of brushed metal studs.

DH bought me some lovely opal studs but the backs are too long to sleep in them :(

I wear a gorgeous pear of diamond earrings in white gold that my DH got me for a wedding day present.

They were from blue nile

Good fake diamond studs. I tend to wear these or fake pearl studs all the time as I lose earrings a lot!

At the moment I'm wearing some small pearl (faux) studs and a tiny 2mm CZ in my second piercing in my right ear.
I love the gold hoops (but I can only wear studs for work).
I've got some tiny ones that fit just over my finger tip (set of three pairs, graduating).

And loads of QVC Diamonique earrings (yay)

small pearl studs. They go with everything, don't dig in when I'm in bed and because they're silver, I'm not allergic to them.

I've got some silver drop earrings from Laura Ashley. A bit 1990's actually. I like simple silver jewellery that isn't fussy. They are the type that are all in one piece that you just pop in the ear without a back to them.

Those are lovely cessie

A lot of pearl earrings to it seems - think I'd probably prefer diamond studs to pearls

Your earrings sound nice nagoo-have you got a link?

Bunches of glass chillies Grin I love my earrings.

For cheap every day ones, I wear Argos normally. Going out its either my chillies or my Stonehenge earrings, because I'm cool like that.

I'm usually a vintage fiend, but for dinner party this evening I cheated with these

art deco drop Can't argue with the price Wink

Only annoying thing is that for normal earrings I have to wear a silicone fake ear bit because I stretched my earlobes (and like them like that for everyday- but it was a fancy evening.)
