I've bought a long sleeved black layering t shirt from H&M, a black and white Breton also from H&M and an animal print jumper from Whistles which is ---bet lynch i fear or really subtly sexy and stylish...--lying on my bed while I decide if I'll keep it. Bought them all because apart from the Breton ( of which I have about a dozen) I don't have anything like them.

What have you bought recently and why?

BandersnatchCummerbund Thu 11-Oct-12 16:18:20

Primark long-sleeved thermal T-shirt.
Linea fleece-lined tights.
Both because I was freezing! Still need to decide on what, exactly, I'm going to order from Uniqlo Heattech.

Before that? Probably a pair of Kurt Geiger nude patent T-bar stilettos. Because I've seen too many pictures of Kate Middleton and eventually fell in love with the nude shoe look despite having resisted it for ages. blush I did make sure they were sufficiently different from hers, though...

Some pleather patterned leggings (haven't worn them, doubt I ever will) a guns n roses t shirt and some green denim shorts. <stylish>

Technicallly it was probably 3 pairs of Falke rights (anthracite, marine and merlot) but I will tell you about the most interesting things I have bought recently:

Black/white patterned DVF wrap dress (eBay)
White T by Alexander Wang vest
Navy Vivienne Westwood red label pencil skirt
Black suede Nike wedge high tops from NaP.

JennyPiccolo Thu 11-Oct-12 16:36:48

Big biker boots, wee grey jersey skirt for wearing over leggings and a leopard print scarf.

Oh, dress and skirt are because I have recently RTW after back to back pgs and need new stuff, vest and high tops are because that's the kind of shiz I wear off-duty cos I'm gangsta like that

CaptainHetty Thu 11-Oct-12 16:40:39

A pair of Chuck Taylor Converse. Because... Well just because I fell in love with them. If only the Yodel delivery man would actually deliver them... I've been waiting since September angry

Other than that I don't actually remember. Probably tracksuit bottoms or something suitably boring as I was pregnant until 10 days ago. Must be time for a shopping spree, surely?

daisydoodoo Thu 11-Oct-12 16:43:22

Non leather biker boots were from Tesco. They had black and brown for £19.50 a pair

prelim29 Thu 11-Oct-12 16:49:51

A Brora cashmere fairisle cardigan (beautiful investment piece)
and in direct contrast, a Primark shetland fairisle jumper
and finally a dress from New Look

QueenBeebread Thu 11-Oct-12 16:50:50

Great thread, OP.

MrsMeow Thu 11-Oct-12 17:34:51

Black DM boots because they are gorgeous and I am sick of my Fly London boots leaking angry

Black with white flecks slouchy jumper from New Look. V grungy and 1997ish, I love it!

Red bargainous coat from Asda for nineteen whole pounds!!

Oh and I know this is 4 but bought at the same time was a pair of PJs from Asda. red tartan bottoms and navy blue LS top with 'I'd rather be in bed' on the front - very fitting for me!!

All bought because I needed to wrap up warm for the winter smile

Brown knee length boots from Fatface (sale £50 bargain)
3 pairs wooly tights in berry cream and black (H&M)
Long black boyfriend cardi (GAP)

DD has already borrowed the berry tights and the cardi.

SaraBellumHertz Thu 11-Oct-12 18:11:51

I went on a bit of a spree last week so not sure which were technically the last three but...

Silver loose knit top from banana republic

White boyfriend style cardi with navy stripes from banana republic

I have just tried to link to banana republic website and discovered it is the dullest site ever all their clothes look hideously dreary mine are nice. Honest!

Short black crepe dress with long sleeves and studs on shoulders from Zara

Blue wool blazer from Zara because it makes me look like I have a teeny waist

Black stretch shift dress from Zara for reason above

Cream tweedy jacket from Zara because It was love at first sight.

Lizzylou Thu 11-Oct-12 18:17:41

Grey lace skirt from mint velvet sale.
Stripey jumpers x 3 from h&m
Black patent brogues, amazon
Because I got a bonus and needed to update my wardrobe desperately.

DilysPrice Thu 11-Oct-12 18:27:40

Tights from M&S
Black work brogues from Office to replace my old knackered pair from 2 years ago - 20% off in HOS blue cross sale
Hand knitted jumper from Help the Aged, a whole 6 quid and clearly never worn. Not a brilliantly perfect knitting job but I don't care because I'm going to wear it layered over jeans in a grungy style, and it's a great shape and a fabulous colour for me that isn't available on the High Street this year. I've worn it already and I'm really pleased with it smile.

I sound so abstemious, but if you'd asked me this last month my answer would have involved half the Jigsaw sale.

coolkat Thu 11-Oct-12 18:30:25

Pink v neck work jumper from Zara basic range

Animal print cardi and burgandy jumper fit work from next

All cheap and simple all my work stuff was summery, think I binned my old stuff at the end of winter and forgot blush

MerylStrop Thu 11-Oct-12 18:33:41

black very wide-legged trousers
grey jersey sort of deconstructedy dress
sparkly black cardi
all from cos
because I was feeling cold, because I was a bit fed up, because summer is over and because I thought I had more money in the bank than I actually do

FrancesFarmer Thu 11-Oct-12 18:39:16

Chloé Mini Marcie bag - because I like it and it's useful on days that I don't have to carry a lot of stuff.

Topshop straight-leg black jeans - black jeans are an essential piece in my wardrobe and I was finding my old skinny ones too restricting to wear.

APC denim skirt - because it's a useful casual piece that can be worn with loads of different tops both winter and summer.

panicnotanymore Thu 11-Oct-12 18:45:14

black maternity coat (H&M)
over the bump maternity trousers (H&M)
Empire line maternity jumper (M&M)

Because I have finally admitted defeat with respect to squeezing the bump into leggings, and all the 'posh' maternity shops only stock frumpy mumsy hideous clothes that are aging and unflattering. H&M stuff makes me look attractive.... sort of grin!

DiamondDoris Thu 11-Oct-12 18:48:58

An awful pair of jeans from Next. A halter-necked top from a charity shop (turquoise and orange) and a black short sleeved top also from a charity shop. I don't buy jeans or trousers from charity shops (feel a bit icky). Can't afford much in the way of clothing these days.

MunchkinsMumof2 Thu 11-Oct-12 19:17:54

Fair Isle long cream cardi with leather elbow patches - Zara
Green ribbed cardi - TK Maxx
Red peplum dress - Dotty P for a wedding

TellMeLater Thu 11-Oct-12 19:24:53

Running tights £36- Ronhill lost weight and my old ones are falling off me, very happy with them.
Snakeskin jeans Primark - they were a bargain at £12 and a bit glam for a night out.
A line chiffon dress - Primark £12- really nice dress, bought for a night out, shame it's polyester and not silk - I'd have paid 10 times more for a dress like it in better fabrics.

germyrabbit Thu 11-Oct-12 19:30:13

ash bowie shoes
lace topshop top
gap top in sale

germyrabbit Thu 11-Oct-12 19:30:58

why? because i wanted to, because i wanted to

SucksFake Thu 11-Oct-12 20:14:15

Most recent purchase is wine-coloured swallow print jeggings from M&S. Have had my eye on them for a while and bought them because Zoidberg mentioned the M&S sale upthread. £25 down to £10, so thank you!

Two long sleeve tops from ASOS. Bought because I needed to get layers for Autumn/Winter.

And prior to that, Ash Thelma canvas wedges (from Ebay), because I have been obsessing over them for ages. (DH has since bought me a brand new leather pair in a different colour & slightly different style for my birthday!)

faustina Thu 11-Oct-12 20:36:18

really lovely comptoir des cotonniers/uniqlo jacket - because I am cold, and DS2 has nicked my perfectly battered barbour jacket. Wore it today and couldn't be more pleased.

gap pure oversized black polo neck - because I had a hankering for it!

does jewellery count as clothing? If so, the third thing was a pair of stacking silver rings from a designer called Nancye Church in Gozo - beautiful things!
