I totally fancy a cape. But I feel totally ridiculous in them. And then I read a comment about carrying a handbag with one, what type of handbag and how much a nuisance it was. So while I fancy a cape or poncho, nah, not faffing about with handbags.

I need to go try a few on before I know if I will feel a pretentious twat, I can imagine with black skinny jeans and boots it will look nice. I don't always take my handbag and I do have other coats for shopping.... hmm

I love them, I have three.

One vintage wool navy one with hidden inside buttons so you can make sleeves if you wish; one tweedy check one that has slots in the side, pockets and a big collar and one khaki one with a hood and a dipped hem that's a bit like a parka.

I wear my cross body bag, don't have too many problems.

I have a mad yellow-and-grey tweed one from Anthropologie which manages to look like 50s vintage and Sherlock Holmes at the same time. Really warm and perfect for this time of year when it's too cold for jackets but not quite full-on winter coat weather.

I want a red or navy blue one. Am very Envy of those who already have one.

Ooh, this might solve my maternity winter coat dilemma. Anyone got a link to any nice ones?

Yes mini I think a cape would work, plus it wouldn't be a never wear maternity item because it's not fitted.

I want some links to please.Grin

My local TK Maxx had some yesterday. Might be worth checking them out online?

I really need one. I use crutches, so I think I would be better off with a cape than a coat.

DH thinks I am mad though and sniggers every time I mention it. New look has a tweed one, but I think I could end up looking like Sherlock Holmes!

Tutt I just looked online and the newlook tweed one also comes in grey!

I have been lusting after this outfit Tara Starlet Cropped Cape for ages but havent been able to justify it.

They also have this one Vamp Cape and this one Cosy Cape but I'm not brave enough to work them.

I have a camel chunky wool cape from Phase Eight bought in the January sales and have to say I love it. I was even wearing it earlier.

Bag wise I find an over the body bag is easier to handle. I also make sure to wear long sleeves tops on underneath.

Legs wise, I either wear skinnies and boots or straight legged. Any thing wider than straight legged makes me look too wide with the cape.
