For me it's ankle boots even though it will mean hiding the seven pairs of calf boots I have from my husband.

Well I don't know if I would say I am rocking a style but I am looking forward to wearing my new cords in burgundy and khaki (I didn't get the yellowWink!). I have been looking for a pair of ankle boots and have scoured so many sites but am yet to find a pair that I really like. Which ones have you got?

My lovely new wedge high tops - they will be the cornerstone of my A/W wardrobe.

I'd like some cords too.

I don't do trends but cannot wait to get back in my A/W uniform of tea dresses, opaques and biker boots!

I love the Ash high tops Amber but I'm 34 so perhaps a bit old, maybe could try the darker colours. Re aw need to find new ankle boots, saw some lovely Sam Edelman's but not ready to commit. Also need to update to darker colour jeans, thinking burgundy, black and grey

Ooh yes, Current Elliott leopard print cords for me too. I'm actually loving the A/W trends this year!

I bought wedge hightops a few months back but have only wore them once can't wait to get some more wear out of them. Loving ankle boots too but it's so bloody hard to get a nice pair or else I'm just very fussy.

Grey 34? Are you joking, that's no age! Nicole Scherzinger is your age - is she too old for them?!

Nah, normally never think that just had a silly comment yesterday that I should have disregarded. Will try the darker colourway, would look great with skinnys and slouchy tees which is generally my daily "uniform". Thanks for the link need to move on from supergas and converse

I think wedge hightops are total marmite shoes- you either love em or hate em. I'm in the love camp!

I can't wait to get back into boots. And am looking forward to buying some slim fit patterned trousers (am sure there is an on trend description that I don't know.....).

New boots, maybe these?

No no no to high heeled high top trainers......

I'm legendary for liking ugly shoes but those hightops are too ugly even for me.

Those hightops look like the shoes those little girls that won the xfactor last year wore. I know I'm showing my age here (40) as I don't even remember the name of that group, but those shoes really look like shoes for kids, not grown women.

Whistles have some lovely animal print skinny jeans too, but their website is ridiculous and I can't link to them...... (boooooooooooooooooo).

Each to their own re the hightops:)... whilst they are not for me I am all fora bit of variety and individuality.

Anyway, I am happy to partly shop my wardrobe. I have a green military winter coat, a tweed skirt from LKB which will fit in with the country/Edwardian thing and a French connection brocade skirt. All bought a few years ago. I am planning to avoid the style police and wear knee high boots as (for my calves) they are a better look with skirts and dresses than ankle boots.

InspiredToBoot · 17/08/2012 22:00

Agreed Bienchen. I think ankle boots are less flattering than calf boots, pencoots, but quite fancy a change.

Quite jealous about your tweed skirt. I'd love a knee-lenght tweed skirt that can be worn with calf boots but can't find one.
