After about 5 years where I either didn't have the time or money for buying clothes and making myself look nice, I've worked really hard to sort of re-invent myself this year. I started in late spring, buying my first pair of skinny jeans, they were a revelation and I look like a new person now and I feel so much better about myself. The problem is that I don't really have any sense of style so its a bit tricky to build a look.
I banned black from my almost totally black wardrobe, started going in shops I would never have stepped in before and it has made a big difference.
My basic 'uniform' is skinny jeans (dark wash, indigo and letterbox red) with sandals, flat pumps or converse. On top I stick with basic t-shirts for play days with the kids or a slightly smarter top on other days. I've loved the Zara linen t-shirts and have had some nice slightly see-through blouse type things (sorry, don't know what you'd call them!) that I team with a strappy vest top.
But, soon it will be autumn and I don't have any other clothes so I have to buy some. What should I be buying?
I can see that burgundy and bottle green are going to be everywhere as the seasons colours. I can look ok in burgundy but I don't suit green well.
Should I try a pair of the burgundy skinnies? If I did what colours would I look for tops to go with them?
Or, should I stick to my jeans I already have and buy tops in the new autumnal colours?
Basically, I haven't a clue and would really appreciate your help. TIA
