Sweat pads, anybody using them?

Are they really good or is it just waste of money? I'm going to get some and they are not really cheap so if you have any experience using them, can you advise me please.

I use sweatex disposable sweat pads in my tops. They are brilliant - means I can wear something other than black!

emsyj, yes I've tried them but I'm kind of trying to use as less chemicals as possible so looking into other options.

If they merely absorb the sweat, what about the smell?

Don't they show under clothes?

I think that you should still use deodorant to prevent smell. I'm using natural crystal deodorant but I still sweat and it showes on the shirt. I went on Amazon and search for underarm pads and there is few available but thought if any of Mumsneters use them and can recomend....

How do they stay in place?

One side is sticky and get attached to shirt. I think they work on same principal like pantie liners

They are useful but preform different on the different tops. I use them regularly on my cotton tops and it's fine. Very reliable and comfortable. On silk or on very light tops they don't stick as good . I suppose, you know that as soon as you put them on. I'm using Nonchalante underarm pads ever since one of Mumsnetters recommended them to me and they work for me. ( and my DH from time to time)

Neither did I. How do they work if you are wearing loose clothing? And how is it possible not to see them?

Put it this way. If you lift up your arms and hold them in the air they can't be seen on any good cotton shirt or top. If you wear loose or see through clothes then they are visible but it still looks better then wet patches

Can you wear them on t-shirt and how sticky is sticky part, does it leave marks on clothes?

The one that I'm using, Nonchalante underarm pads, don't leave any marks and I use them on my T-shirts. I'm not sure for the different brands. I don't think that you can leave any link on this site, once I left link for something I was told off by Mumsnet so I suppose google it and check out the prices as they vary. I'm getting them from their site and I can wait when they'll became available in the shops. Only people who sweat know how useful they are as some of my friends who don't have same problem think it's so unnecessary.

Thanks Unna, I know exactly what do you mean. I've started to perspire more than usually last year ( especially from my left armpit, for some strange reason) as I'm getting close to my 40's and it can get very embarrassing.

Few years ago I found them in Italy. Just can't live without them, don't need to worry anymore if the sweat will show up or not! I am hooked on them. For some reason hard to find in shops but I buy them from the website!! Money well spent.

In Austria they are sold in High Street shops. I use them occasionally as I don't sweat too bad, some of my friends use them every day but I don't think they are suitable for excessive sweating, more moderate, I would say.

I cannot imagine having pads under my arms. Just an idea of that makes me feel uncomfortable. Perspirex is working miracle for me.

Huh, Perspirex leaves my armpits red, itchy, sore and yes, dry but it's big price to pay to have dry armpits. I'm very sensitive and Perspirex it's not for me.

You could have a nerve cut and stop excessive sweating permanently -- op is called endoscopic thoracoscopic sympathectomy.

Op. would be last resort for me, afraid of the knife. I rather stick with underarm pads.

I went to the doctors and was recommended Anhydrol Forte, and it is working wonders for me , I am so happy with it...
