Recommendations for getting "colours done"

Hello!

Have been reading about colour analysis, and quite fancy getting it done. I look so washed out all the time, am pregnant again and want to still look half decent. I have looked up House of Colour and looked up my local consultants and just wondered if anyone had any other recommendations, or if they're the best. I really want it to be worth it, and without being too judgey I'd like to know the consultant is stylish etc (I have a totally unfounded and irrational idea that the lady might be like Matt Lucas out Little Britain in the diet sketch "dust?!" with bad blusher).

I am probably being massively unfair, and would be happy to be told so - so does anyone have any recommendations for a good style consultant in the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire area?

I went to house of colour for my birthday 5 years ago. Enjoyed my day and saved me from some expensive mistakes over the years.

I had a consultation with "Colour me beautiful" (colour and style). It wasn't cheap but it has been one of the best investments I have done:

• It has saved me £1000s in clothes. Everything that is in my cupboard fits nicely, looks great and gets used regularly. (no expensive mistakes)
  
• It saves a lot of time in buying clothes too, now I go straight to the colours that I need and I can decide whether the item is likely to be a good fit even before trying it on.

I am another HoC fan. My analysis day was really useful and totally worth it. However, don't expect, necessarily, to get a stylish consultant. Colour analysis is so not Hoxton. Your Matt Lucas worries may be more closely founded that you think. BUT, they are not giving you style advice (that comes later, at your initiation) they are applying a tested method of analysis. Take that away from your consultation and ignore any scary comments about little cardis, if that doesn't float your boat.

I almost didnt go to my local HoC consultant, her pic on their website was so scary.....

But she was really experienced, knowledgeable and professional and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have found it hugely helpful. Its not about fashion its about the science behind colours and what suits you.

I agree with Forward - HoC's advice is founded on a tried-and-tested method - I could learn it and apply it, but you wouldn't necessarily look at me and want to be me .
I've seen four different consultants over the years, only one of which I genuinely admired for her style, but the advice was sound.
It's a matter of taking the principles and adapting them to suit you.
