Going to warmer climes this summer and as I've only been holidaying in the UK in recent times I've only ever opted for an all-in-one swim suit.
I would love to wear a bikini but am I too old??
I'm 5'5'' and weigh 9 stone-ish. I've got small boobs and am sort of an angular pear IYSWIM.
Err hell no! I am 47 this year and I will be wearing mine!
No, me too (47 this year!) Its beach wear- age and size irrelevant if you look at european women

No way! I wore one last year and I'm 47 (I think, I've sort of lost track
)

I used to think this until one day on holiday having felt hot and sticky all day in my one piece I looked arounds and saw women older and wider then me wearing bikinis. I bought one that year and haven't looked back.

Helen Mirren anyone? She looked fab in hers. I still wear them in my 40s although the tiny, unstructured tie ones I used to wear as a teenager are now a closed book to me. Nowadays I prefer quality material, proper upholstery and generally more substantial ones. There are a lot of lovely bikinis out there.

I am nearly 41 and will be wearing a bikini on our holidays this Summmer, much to my DS's disgust!

Thing is, you will see women of all shapes and sizes in bikinis on the beach. It really doesn't matter. It's more about enjoying yourself and relaxing in the sun. You can always buy a fab cover-up kaftan to slip on if you want a bit of coverage after sunning yourself. Just go and have fun!

So long as you look OK - any age is ok imo!
feck off OP (in a good way) I didn't start wearing bikinis till I was 48!

No!
I looked stupid in a bikini when I was 20
and I always will.
My figures irrelevant, I just burn.
I've recently returned to bikinis after years of swimsuits (I'm 49). I have a nice structured one with shorts bottom, and a pink shorts & tie combo.
Mind you I don't go out in public in them, we tend to holiday miles away from other people.
I agree they are more structured now! No more sashaying around in thailand in little bits of tie dye and string, that would be a horror show

Not at all, I'm 43 and still wear them, despite being at least a stone heavier than my ideal weight. I'd rather be brown and plump than pale and plump, I especially hate having a big white tummy!
Mumblechum that sounds nice, where was your bikini from please?
Oh god yes, I need some structure. I like underwired bikini tops and fuller bottoms.

I am 46, I will be wearing a bikini this year, and probably for many years to come
STEALTH BOAST!
I will never ever ever again look good in a bikini....stretch marks, wobbly tum and saggy boobs have seen to that.
Age is no barrier, general decrepitude is

Not exactly this one, but similar, from an independent shop in Henley.

when I was 16 I thought 43 was old
now I am 46 it is late youth
AF In that case I am in Twilight Youth.
I get mine from bravissimo. I go in shop and try them all on (they are proper bra sizes) and then I wait for the on-line sale, like a coiled spring
