Going back to work after 6 years and I have no work clothes. What do I need?

My wardrobe has slowly shrunk over the years. I haven't really been replacing casual clothes let alone smart/work clothes.
The job is an infant teaching assistant. I want to do the Gok mix and match thing but what do I need? I need to be focussed as I dislike shopping now which makes me sad and I don't want to be too stressed.
Any help welcomed.

Go to m&s website and order in a load of different tops. They've got hundreds online - loads more than in the shops! You can get them delivered to your local shop for free and pick them up. Then return any you don't want to the shop.

Unless you are sure of your style and size of trousers you may need to actually go to the shops to buy a few pairs - New Look or Dorothy Perkins should set you up with some cheapish black work trousers. In New Look there's no limit to how many you take into the fitting room so you can swing round the shop and take in anything that's a possibility all in one go - to relieve the faff of going in and out if things are wrong.

Then maybe a couple of jackets and a couple of cardigans (John Lewis website - free delivery over £30 and free returns?) and you're sorted!

Good luck!

Go to Zara. They have such a huge range of 'work' and 'casual' clothes that it'll be easy to find stuff you like and that works together. Massive range of prices too - from £20 tops to ££££ coats and bags.

Thank you. I forget about shopping online and Zara, probably because I haven't needed work style clothes for ages.
