V small boobs but can anyone tell me what size bra?!

I've just been reading ameliagreys post with interest, about the confusion surrounding bra sizes. I didn't want to hijack her thread but would be grateful for opinions as I've found buying bras a real pain for years, and wonder if anyone could suggest the size/s I should be trying....

I measure 31" underbust, and 34" around. Boobs are small, no getting away from that! Generally I wear a 36AA from Marks which is comfortable enough, but there's a real lack of choice in that size. I have tried 34As from Marks, but did feel they were too tight, and not quite right in the cup. But poss the wrong style rather than size...?

If I should be wearing a different size, great, because I might have more choice. If not, I'll just have to be in plain t-shirt bras for the rest of my days Grin

no way are you a 36AA. Go try a 32C. Ot what about a visit to Rigby and Peller? You don't have to buy, but they will fit you.

I've never tried a 32, I think mentally i'm still stuck in the add-4-inches way of working.....I've also never been properly fitted as boobs are so small, tbh i'd feel a bit embarrassed.

Amazed I could be a C cup, in a smaller brand, but will happily try. Thanks for your post HazleNutt.

I was told by a lady in R&P that the back size should be 'true' - i.e. 31 (or close to - so 30 or 32, prob 32). Apparently before bras had elastic in them you had to add 4 or 5 inches and M&S (and most other places) have continued to do this for decades unnecessarily. I'd guess a 32 B or C would work. R&P are brilliant, or if not try a Bravissimo or Leia. Independent lingerie specialists can also be great. I don't know where you are but there's a brilliant one in York called Kathryn Rolfe.

(Kathryn Rolfe herself used to run the flagship R&P in London which might explain why she's so good!)

WHAT?! No, you do add 5 inches for an odd number, so you are a 36 and you are two inches smaller than 36 making you a AAA (Triple)

Welcome to the AAA club :)

You are NOT a C sorry.

HazleNutt · 05/11/2011 20:26

No you DO NOT. No adding. If you measure 32 you wear 32.

I measure at 30" underbust. Some daft woman from a bra shop (clearly a newbie) gave me a 30" C. It about cut me in half. I showed my then DP and he killed himself laughing. I had to go buy and extender just to get the thing around my back and it was still wrong in the cup...

I would call those measurements a 36AA (a size I once wore and would like to again).

Oh I'm really confused now....! Grin

No, I flatly refuse to believe I'm an AAA because the cups of my 36AA from Marks are quite snug. Which is why I have trouble believing I could be a b or C cup, although I understand the bit about go down a band size and up a cup size now.......B or C cup to me means good sized boobs which i really haven't got....sighs....

Go to Rigby. If they measure you anywhere near 36AA, I will personally buy you this bra. They won't though.

Most women wear bras with far too big band sizes and too small cups. It feels weird at first to wear something so tight (and obviously it shouldn't be painful!) but then you realise that you look like you've lost a stone, are standing taller and your boobs are in a totally new and pert place and your world changes Grin - or at least, that's what happened to me when I went to R&P a 36D and left a 32F!

Do not ever add inches to your back measurement. I agree try a 32c you should only be able to fit your fingers under the back band because that's what provides the support for your boobs.

Adding inches is what makes women look like they are using their boobs to warm their midriff.

Ps 32C is the same size cup as 36A.

30D / 32C depends on the bra.

AAA Hmm

HazleNutt, I like a challenge - you're on! Grin

I do like the idea of my boobs (such as they are) being in a totally new and pert place!

I got my bra from Kathryn Rolfe in York :)

Am going to try and find a tape measure and measure what I am. I wear a 30C. I have small but perfectly formed (IMO) breasts.

I went from a 36A to 32C and my boobs looked so much bigger :)

As HAzelNut said, 32C is the same size cup as 36A and 34B and 30D and 28DD. Only the band size varies. Honest.

Underneath I am 30. And over the top I am 33.

So I would say you are about 32C. But getting measured would be a good idea.
