Ouch! I was "Threaded" today - but it was worth it!

So, I have tried various things on my beautiful moustache, but they all make me spotty and it was getting rather thick! (I have very dark hair & very pale skin).

Eyebrows were also in need of hedge-trimming. I rarely wear make-up and am not usually bothered with looks, but have decided to take myself in hand and get sorted :)

Anyway, I was in town and chose a place where the whole world doesn't watch directly. They attacked my brows first nad then the lip. Oh my! Eye watering or what - especially just under the nose. The girl was very kind, assured me it would be easier next time, and the redness would go soon. (it did.)

Anyway, I am now perfectly shaped and tache free.

How often do you need to get it re-done, and has anyone done their lips themselves?

Every 3-4 weeks - that it will be less painful next time is not borne out by my experience (sorry) but it is definitely worth it!

Oh dear - although at least there won't be the same amount of growth there!

Oh good for you and its so good, its addictive! Every 3/4 weeks? Take a painkiller half an hour before!

it shouldnt really hurt as they should be doing it v fast, plus it should not cost you more than £3 - it's the best!

Ooh, hadn't thought of painkiler beforehand - Thanks!

£3??? I was robbed! Seriously, she was fast, and had a LOT to remove, so I can't really moan, and will be going back.

I got my eyebrows threaded today...why have I not had this done before? They look so neat and tidy, and the process was quick and almost painless! :o

I wish i could get mine done for £3! It costs me £9.25 :(

I need mine done every couple of weeks but I am especially hairy.

Well I spent £15 - but that was for a complete re-shape (find the shape!) of eyebrows and removal of substantial tache. In fact, it was disconerting how far round the sides of my face she was venturing.....

I pay £7 just for my eyebrows. I go every 4 weeks on payday :)

It is good isn't it? And so clever.

I had to go back to having mine waxed though. The threading lady kept making my eyebrows too thin which wasn't the look I was wanting; I think she was excellent but too enthusiastic.

In Northampton it is £7 for eyebrows and I believe it is the same for Tache.
I only get my eyebrows done but after last time when the woman asked if I wanted my upper lip doing Hmm I may go for it. OP what hurt more, eyebrows or tache?

The woman today also asked if I would like my upper lip threaded and I was personally offended. Then I got home and looked at it...she may have had a point Hmm. I imagine that hurts like nothing else!

I pay £6 this is for both. Having my moustache upper lip done hurts more than my brows. I've noticed recently it's a bit downy/few hairs under my chin has anyone had this done? Or more to the point how much does it hurt if you've had it done?

*Magenta scuttles off thinking everyones going to think I'm a Wearwolf....

I am a fan of threading cos I'm a bit hairy I get my eyebrows done every 4 weeks or so & either my top lip or chin as its too painful to have both done at once. Sorry op but like you I was told it would get less painful for my top lip - it hasn't yet in nearly 2 years. Good tip about the painkiller, I too will be trying that now - thanks!

I do my own eyebrows and lip. If I'm feeling lazy I have a work colleague who will do it for me Grin
Could never go back to plucking now

i went back to waxing as threading was soooo painful. i tried a couple of different places, the first if i hadnt have looked silly with one eyebrow done i would have got up and walked out.

couldnt go back to bushy eyebrows now.

is it an age thing the tache and chin? im not sure if its age (35 or if its hormonal due to weightloss (7stone down in 7 months and now at target)? not sure i could bare having upper lip waxed or threaded.

The lip was definitely a LOT mare painful than the eyebrows, and I did wonder if I was going to give up part way through too! It's just the hair level was getting me down so I persevered and was so glad I did, AND I will go back.

It's age - I'm 45, and only had a problem with lip in the 40's.
