Are Spanx the best, or is there another hold you in option?

Have a wedding in a few weeks, will be trying my best to drop a few pounds before the day but having been ill I've not been exercising as usual and my diet has gone out of the window.

I need something to go underneath a just above the knee (but may ride up a bit!) close fitting but ruched dress. Have tried and failed to find a pic of it online for you - it's kind of like this but without the sleeves. So I could wear an 'all in one' type smoother.

I've got curves and lumps and bumps - would Spanx be the best option? Don't the legs ride up? Can you even move in them? Are they a good investment - and which one should I get? I have a feeling Trinny and Susannah and Gok Wan have also done things like this but I don't know.

I'm not asking for miracles, I just want to smooth out a bit Grin

My spanx are great much better IMO than Trinny & Susannah but haven't tried Gok Wan.

Primark do them and they are just as good as spanx for a fraction of the price.

I have one of these which I find holds everything in and smooths out all the lumps and bumps.

It is a slip so it makes your dress hang nicely without clinging and no worry of revealing cycling shorts and most importantly is very easy to go to the toilet in!

I got mine in John Lewis but have picked up a couple of their camis in TK Maxx today for less than a third of the RRP.

Other than Spanx, I've tried Trinny and Susannah and the ones you get in TK Maxx and the Spanx is miles ahead of them both. Well worth the investment but only if you are going to wear lots...too expensive otherwise. I wore my Spanx till they disintegrated.

Though after Jazz post above, I am defo going to try out the Primark ones!
