Quality of Boden Clothes

My children had some Boden clothes when they were little; the clothes were indestructible. After not buying from Boden for many years I have bought them a lot of clothes from the Summer Sale. DS had had a Johnnie B hoody that he has worn twice. The stitching is so bad that the sleeve is starting to drop off. DD has had a sun top that she has worn twice. The straps are held on with buttons, and one of the buttons has already fallen off.

Now, I know that I can sew a button and a sleeve back on easily myself, but I do think the clothes should be better quality. Have I been unlucky or had there been a decline in quality over the last few years? I was intending to buy quite a few kids things for the Autumn, but I don't want to pay out for things like a coat if it is going to drop to bits.

The quality has definitely gone down in my opinion. But the prices have shot up!
I have ordered the boys cord baggies for my two sons. I have found these to be the best wearing and most comfortable/versatile trousers around. Have passed them on to a friend who has 4 boys and they are still going strong!
They didn't do them last year,so it will be interesting to see how they fare this year.
Having said that, this summer all the boys t-shirts and shorts are Boden, and they have been fine. Washed well,no hems falling apart or anything.

I was wondering about this. I have always bought the fleece lined jackets for my daughters for winter and found them great quality but this year the reviews say that the quality has deteriorated. I don't know where else I'm supposed to get a decent quality coat now if Boden has dumbed down.

I think they're rubbish at the moment

My mil bought DS2 a towelling hoodie thing which was really shiny and thin. Looked really cheap.

I would have sent it back, I was Sad because she doesn't have that much money and I know she bought it because she thought I would like it

Yes I agree. I bought DD a top and t-shirt in recent sales and it's rubbish. I know they will not wash well. Such a shame as she is currently wearing 3 hand boden clothes from her cousin (from years ago) and they are still in good condition.

I had to email them as one of DS's tops (brand new straight out the wrapper) had wonky and crap stitching where the arms had joined and all along the bottom. Bought it over 6 months ago but they have asked me to return it so they can have a look

The quality of clothing really has put me off from making future purchases. The towelling kids clothes are particularly bad, colour fading and bobbling after a short time, had bought quite a few kids things last year (only got ro wear them a few times) and although they still fit this year it's the quality that's putting me off from wearing them.
