Tinted moisturiser -worth it?

I need a new foundation and am heading to the shops this week. I've tried all sorts of brands of foundation and have never been entirely happy, possibly I am not applying it properly.
My Aunt uses Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and clearly rates it so may go down this route. My dh prefers this option whilst I am considering pan stick Smile....
So if I am not happy with more conventional foundations ie doesn't stay in place; doesn't make a huge amount of difference what would be the point of a tinted moisturiser other than it would take less time to put on in the morning?
I am 42 and fair skinned. I don't have acne but the skin under my eyes is bagging and my nose has red lines around it.
If you use a tinted moisturiser do you use other make up as well? eg powder?
Also planning to buy new bras this week but that's another story....

Yes, yes, yes, it is fab. I use the Laura Mercier one, over their moisturising primer and it is great. I find I don't need foundation as well, just cover stuff on my dark under eye circles, then loose powder.

LM stuff is fab.

I use LM tinted moisturiser over beauty flash balm- its very good. I read a column years ago by Nigella and she recommended it.

Vichy Lumineuse in their fairest shade does me. And it's very reasonably priced.

I have always used good makes of foundation, most recently Estee Lauder Doublewear light but when I needed more and couldn't get to town for a few days I bought a Nivea tinted moisturiser and it is bloody lovely! Coverage is very similar and it smells lovely. Best of all it was on offer so got it for £2! :)

I just got a Nivea tinted moisturiser and am very pleased with it so far. Was on offer at Sainsburys plus they had given me a money off Nivea voucher so ended up with lots of Nivea things for not much money Smile.

I absolutely agree about the Nivea tinted moisturiser. It is fab and I have got a drawer full of other makes eg Laura Mercier, Estee Lauder, Bobbie Brown and Dermalogica. Nivea is the best and the cheapest.

Nivea sounds good, am in the shops tomorrow. Will probably buy a tinted moisturiser AND a standard foundation. Glad to hear something cheap works well though.

Yep I m also a Nivea girl. Cant use most other foundations on my pale skin, far too heavy, and even the "fair" ones look orange on my pale and delicate porcelain skin. Nivea gets my vote too.

I'm a total convert to tinted moisturiser. I'm using a Bobbi Brown one at the moment and it's great.

I just think my skin looks much better with something lighter on now that I'm older somehow. Tinted moisturiser evens out your skin tone and makes you look a bit fresher.

I've used the Nivea Q10 tinted moisturiser for the past couple of years and I really like it. However, splashed out on the new Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser last week and it's absolutely gorgeous! Would definitely recommend it. It wasn't cheap, but looks like it will last forever as you only need a little blob. Happy shopping!

tinted moisturiser is great I use NO.7 and its a revelation, I haven't tried any others and I'm not usually loyal to 1 brand, all my other make up is YSL but a friend recommended no.7 and she was right.

Can someone link to the Nivea tinted moisturiser - I have v pale skin so interested in it. Is it the Daily Essentials one?
Love the LM one but (whispers) would like a cheaper on for everyday!

The one I have is this one. And looks like it's still half price :)

Have bought Nivea tinted moisturiser (Daily Essentials there was no choice despite the MASSIVE Boots) and am pleased with it so far. I put some regular moisturiser on underneath and my skin looks natural and healthy. Dh thinks it looks good too.
Glad I've gone for the less is more, was heading for the more is more style of make-up.

Another vote for Nivea here, and the Boots No 7 one is really nice too.

I dont live in the UK and went and had a look for the Nivea stuff today - got a bit confused by the foreign packaging and almost brought the tinted moituriser - for young skin (called Young Be Beautiful in UK)
Oh how I laughed at the irony!
