The PERFECT wardrobe?

What do you think the perfect capsule wardrobe should contain? I'm making a list, as I feel I need a few more items (at the moment I always feel like I have nothing to wear)! This is partly because I've spent the last year in maternity/post preg clothes & the year before that travelling & wearing the same 3 outfits on rotation. Consequently my style has changed & although I'm back to a size 10, my tummy is no longer flat & I need to disguise that.

Jersey 'throw-on' tops (I like batwing & off-the-shoulder, but of course different styles suit different people)

Converse trainers, or similar

wordsonapage, I think I have all those apart from a kaftan (forgot to put them on my list - doh!)

LovelyDaffs I have got other jeans too, but find I don't really wear them - skinny jeans seem to go with more outfits (for me anyway). Loafers - I like! Or maybe brogues..?

this is my idea of a capsule wardrobe -too tired to read your long one above-- , and can't see whats missing!!

Underwear: Good quality, basics and some nice sets. Pair of good quality opaques (Wolford?), White, Grey and Black lace trim camis (prettier imho)

Tops: Loose white v neck and soft coloured t shirts (love T by Alexander Wang and Gap), Breton, Pretty loose and long camis,

Jumpers/Cardis: (disclaimer - i'm a complete sucker for cashmere and imho its is the best material for jumpers, but this complete material snobbery on my behalf, but really you cant beat it !!) Oversized Jumper, Zip up hoodie, Bright Cardis, Cropped round neck jumper

Jeans/Trousers: White, Blue and Black, in whatever style looks best, ideally one should be skinny, (Flares), cropped trousers, black leggings

Dresses: V smart black tie, Floaty summer evening dress, Loose jersey maxi dress, Casual day dress - printed?

Shoes: Bright ballet pumps, Black heeled pumps, Nude Wedges, Pretty flat sandals, Long leather riding boots, One pair of v. colourful high heels

Jackets/Coats: Blazer a la Pippa Middleton, (Bright) Trench, Warm mid thigh winter coat, Leather jacket, Smart chanel-esque cropped wool jacket (loads in Zara atm)

Accessories: Clutch, Neutral big enough for everything hand bag, Pashmina/ sheer scarf/shawl, Sunglasses, Purse big enough for keys/oyster card when you don't want to take handbag

Gym Kit

NB..I haven't included skirts as I haven't worn one since I left school, I find them a bitch to coordinate with anything, and so have no idea what constitutes a 'capsule skirt!!',
