Bought the super cheap but recommended chinos from sainsbury's in sale with extra 25% so super-bargainous at about 7quid a pair, got navy and sand colour I rather love the turnups and the belt.... and they're really comfy.... Was thinking good alternative to linen trousers as I hate my monsterously large legs but now am now sure if they're a bit old for me....... Just turned 29 this week, am size 18 with large everything (boobs, arse, stomach, legs etc) so fairly in propostion I guess! But not sure if look like am wearing my mothers trousers or that I'm off sailing and forgot to wear my tods / deck shoes or that I actually look nice!....... Help!!

I tried on several pairs recently and they looked frumpy on me. All I needed was some Birkenstocks, worn with white socks, to complete the tourist look. I have seen people look great in them tho. I'm pear shaped, with mousy colouring.

Not for me I'm afraid. I'm a 16/18 and kind of hourglass shaped (big overall but with slim waist) and they do NOTHING for me at all.

Not for me either.
I see others looking fantastic in them, but I look...well, crap really!

I'm a size 12, and big of bum and short of leg!

I think chinos look good in principle but I try them on and loathe them.

I think the ruching on the waist doesn't help.

My daughter has the same figure as me and wears hers rolled up with brogues. I wear the same thing and look like a supply teacher. P'raps you have to be young. Grin

I have a flat front pair which I really like.

They don't go baggy on the bum over the course of the day, which is a major plus.

Black/dark ones look chic...but they've got to be decent quality, bought the similar pair to OP in tesco and then made me look awful and saggy (size 10 hourglass), so will try again in a different shop!
