Advice on tights needed this morning please!

Have important meeting (not an interview) about a potential job at work - i have been on maternity leave forever and a day.

I'm wearing a 3" above knee-length black shift dress, black court shoes and a black/cream small scale check jacket.

I'm meeting a very old-school chap by the way, hence the sensible clothes.

Do I wear tights? If so, what colour, denier etc?

I hate the things and prefer bare legs but not sure if it's too cold and if it'll look too messy/casual with the black dress and shoes. My legs are fine by the way so don't really need 'coverage' per se.

I would wear tights with that outfit-probably black ones! I saw a woman at work in black tights the other day and she looked stand out professional compared to the bare legs women.

If you are meeting someone old school, then you need tights. I'd prob wear 40d black opaques

I think I'd go for 10 or 15 denier leg-coloured tights. They give a 'finished ' look without making the outfit too dark. I also agree that 40d black would look fine too and if you won't be too hot,tights are a good idea. Good Luck!

Opaques look weird on me so will go for lowish denier. slovenly was your professional goddess wearing opaques or low denier?

I know the verdict on black vs natural coloured keeps changing and I can't keep up but it sounds as though either are fine now.

That's one less thing to worry about. Thanks very much :)

Now just need to keep baby snot n vom off said black dress...
