Foundation for acne prone skin

All of a sudden at age 40 I have acne prone skin! Got worse after coming off pill few years ago. Just wondering if anyone can recommend foundation that wont irritate/clog skin. My skin is not oily! but dry/combo. Am not sure if what I have Lancome/Mac/Bobbi Brown are not helping things. Is there a range that is non/comodegenic that I could use. btw tried mineral foundation before from QVC and sent it back - wasn't for me I felt like I had nothing on my face just powdery look which I don't like. If anyone knows of a skin care range also (have used everything under the sun) currently using Clinique cream cleanser/soap in mornings.

Revlon Colorstay. Wonderful coverage and doesn't break me out. As recommended by various acne forums. I've had a relationship with Colorstay for close to 20 years. Had a brief fling with Diorskin (lovely consinstency and coverage but too perfumed - I quickly developed an allergy, it started stinging and watering my eyes) but I think Colorstay will serve me at least another decade. (I use the shade Ivory in winter and Nude whenever the sun comes out.)

Colorstay comes in two different versions. Buy the Dry/Normal. Remove with an oil-based cleanser, then use your normal cleanser afterward. Moisturize afterwards (I alternate Eucerin - my favorite moisturizer ever - and La Roche Posay's Toleriane Riche.).

Estee Lauder's Doublewear is another Acne forum favorite, but I find it slightly too heavy and masklike for daytime use. Colorstay is much cheaper too. Check Makeupalley for reviews.

I will give Revlon a go. Think I looked at it one time before when not realising brands I was choosing was not good for my skin. What is difference with oil-based cleanser and oil free products if you have acne? Do you mean the acne.org website for the forums?

I'm a fan of Clinque, I purchased their Anti-Blemish foundation yesterday which the lady on the counter informed me was anti-bacterial and oil free. Reviews on the Boots website were great, but I've not actually used it yet myself. Also use the Clinique anti-blemish cleanser, toner, moisturiser, spot gel and concealer (I don't work for them, honest) - the moisturiser and concealer are the best I have used, the other products are only so-so for the price really.

I use Clinique myself for skincare but my problem is I have acne prone skin which is dry/combo/sensitive. The products for anti-blemish would probably make it v dry. Will look the anti-blemish foundation up I have not heard of that one before.

I see it's only for oily/v oily skin so wouldn't be suitable. The search continues.

I am another for the Revlon Colorstay foundation range. I bought my first bottle about 5 years ago and I am yet to find one that matches it without costing a fortune. It also comes in the two types for oily skin or dry skin and has a wonderfully expansive colour range with different undertones.

Your skin breathes when you wear it and it covers very well with fab lasting ability. I have deviated to try newer ones but none are as good in my book and I always go back to it.

Yes. All Prescriptives skincare products are non-comeodogenic they colour match too, also have you tried dermalogica face mapping.

I am trying st john wort oil great at healing i have rash on my face and wanted to scrub my face raw i popped some oil on and it feels better.

Got Revlon make up today so will use from tomorrow. Have used dermalogica products in past (along with everything else). Been to drs. and put on antibis (hope this helps). Might try Dermologica facial and see how that goes.
