Any tips on where to pick up 2nd hand/cheaper maternity stuff?

I desperately need some cooler items! Usually look on ebay, but there seems to be very little seasonal stuff on there at the moment. I don't want to go out and buy a while new wardrobe as only got a few weeks left, but can't face this heat without some summery bits.

(A pair of shorts was going for £18 earlier - am pretty sure they cost less new!)

Any NCT nearly new sales near you? They usually have some good maternity stuff (if you can face the bun-fight)

Or try Asda or Sainsbury's for cheap and loose tunics/dresses?

Our NCT sale was just a few weeks ago - got lovely summery bits for DD, but there was hardly any maternity stuff at all (it was elbows out all the way!!)

Supermarkets are a good idea - wish we had an Asda nearer (about 30 min drive)

I am a 10/12 ish themild - as it's my 2nd baby I have got a wardrobe for all sizes iykwim!

Some charity shops do them. There is one in North London (Highgate if anyone is interested) which usually has a dedicated rail.

Your best bet is usually to ask friends who have been pregnant and might be storing their clothes for the next to have a peek in their loft for you. Be shameless and ask around!

I've put some size 16 stuff on the for sale boards here, and also on ebay.

Try....
bloomingbumps.co.uk for second hand maternity wear

maternityexchange.co.uk is a maternity dress agency

God just checked out dresses on maternityexchange and they are rather dire right now. Must be because everyone wants them due to the weather. Sorry not such a great suggestion :(

Just had some asda maternity clothes delivered that I ordered online Monday night. 2 pairs of soft trousers £8 each and a pack of 2 long t shirts for £10. Really good value

Do a wanted ad on freecycle? I gave away a load of maternity stuff on there. Or does your nct have an egroup (message board type thing, a bit like freecycle). Someone was asking for nursing tops on ours recently and I sold her my old ones at the bargain price of 2 quid each as I couldn't be arsed to ebay them.
