I use E45 sometimes and it is fine for me and my DH uses it everyday and he has quite sensitive skin.

AC Should be fine - they recommend you plaster yourself in it when you have radiotherapy, so it's presumably very gentle. I never found it burned.

Also good is Dermol 500 lotion, which is both moisturizing and anti-bac, very good for sore skin (but possibly only available on prescription, I'm not sure)

They recommend it because it's cheap. It burns the hell out of me!

I've used it every day for at least the last 10 years and people compliment me on my skin.

I do get bored and go off and try other things, but have to go back to it as I always end up itchy or sore with whatever else I try.

I always use it to remove make up and as a facial wash in the shower of a morning.

It's your choice but I wouldn't. It's designed as a soap substitute not a moisturiser and recent studies have shown prolonged used as a moisturiser can reduce the thickness of your skin and reduce it's ability to retain water so it's now only recommended as. Soap substitute for those with eczema and suchlike. I used to use it as my husband do and it was cheap and my hands ended up really bad and I'm not surprised given the latest reports.

I'd use something like nivea or e45 instead

Dr told us that loads of peole are allergic to aqueous cream and that it shouldn't be used everyday!

That's interesting Doodle. I suppose that could explain why I don't seem to be able to use anything else. Don't know where to start to break the reliance, though.

Oh I can't sorry as I'm on my phone and don't know how to cut and paste a link. There's a fair but out there on it though but probably the best place to start is the BBC report. I just tried googling 'bbc' and 'aqueous cream' and it came up. Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll get my computer out and post a link properly.

I stopped using it altogether after this news report. I hadn't realised it had sodium lauryl sulphate in it which I tend to avoid. I don't like the smell of it either, although obviously that's personal. I used to use it on my face when I had very bad acne on the advice of a GP but it made no difference at all and never felt very gentle.
