Been and had my botox injections in my number 11's so now will wait and see.

Was very nervous but the nurse put me at ease and it was over in no time.

appleslice · 01/04/2011 14:54

It was a special offer as I booked and paid when they had a opening day it was £89 normally £149

I have been looking at having it done for the last year but not found anywhere that I felt at ease at until now, and done there consultation was very good and no sales pressure.. Good back in two weeks for a check up.

How much of the vial did she use for that price? I order botox so knowing the cost prices I'm shocked that anyone is doing it that cheap.

cybbo · 01/04/2011 18:33

I'm booked in for next month

Yes morag live up North.

Akiss I presume she did as it is a very reputable medispa, it was a special offer that the medispa were doing on their opening day I think it is normally £149 for one area, I had 5 injections and I go back for a review after 14 - 21 days and an adjustment if required..

Oh ok 5 injections wouldn't use a whole vial so that explains the price. Do they do the top up for free?

Report
appleslice · 01/04/2011 19:42

Yes they do a top up for free.

When I had the original consultation she did an examination on the area, and ask that I wanted done and what look I wanted (i want a natural look and some movement) and then she said from there how many injections I would need. I have had a couple of other consultations else where but they weren't as indepth as the one that I had here and I didn't want to look odd like some of women in the other spa's looked.

So Akiss will this still have the same effect or not because she didnt use the whole vial..

It depends what you asked for in your consultation. If you want a natural look on the frown area only then that should be achieved. If you are expecting improvement around eyes or middle of forehead then you won't get that.

Things to ask in future: what actual product do they put in. Botox is a brand name, there are several other brands and they all vary slightly in price and effect, but are all generally referred to by the public as Botox. I personally like Azzalure. Also best to check the clinic and the individual are both fully insured. The insurance alone costs a fortune so the clinic would have to be doing a hell of a lot of Botox at £89 a go before it's worth their while, especially as they will be paying all their overheads and the nurse who did it. They could of course be doing that first appointment at a loss in the hope they will get repeat clients. Hopefully if that's the case it will pay off for them.

Oh Cyb- you so will not regret it.

I would make many sacrifices in other areas for botox and have no desire for any other cosmetic procedures. And it looks natural and not at all frozen - I just look like me but less knackered.

Twas Noddy that inspired me.

Yes just want a natural look and luckily have only got light lines on my number 11's, the nurse that applies the botox owns the medispa.... I think they are rather busy, as they do come highly recommended..

Thank you very much for your advice Akiss its much appreciated

DH has agreed to get me Botox for my birthday next month for exactly the same thing - I can't wait.

I've also seen somewhere offering it at £89 but I haven't been to see them, so no idea what they might be like.

Please keep us posted, I'd love to hear what the results are like.

Did it hurt?
