What to wear on legs and feet with dresses in Spring?

I have some nice dresses and skirts that I'd like to wear as a change from my jeans - fine in summer, bare legs, sandals. But what do I wear with them in spring?

I only have some knee-high winter boots, military boots, then sandals / high-heeled open-toed shoes, that it's not warm enough for yet.

Leggings and flats?

Ballet flats on feet. Legs are a dilemma I am struggling with, so will lurk for ideas.

I think tights for you then, non?

Yes, but that's the problem, I struggle with nude, look daft in patterned ones (chunky legs) so sweat in too thick ones :(

You're right! Ballet flats.
Basically I need to dump 90% of my wardrobe and start again, nothing seems to go with anything else.

I find nude fishnets a godsend at this time of year. Much less naff than ordinary nude tights. Ive got a nice pair of nude leather kitten heels from next that are coming in very handy too.

nude fishnets? like the sound of that, but never seen them before....where do you get them?

Leggings and ballet flats for casual. IMO, navy or charcoal leggings look better at this time of year with summer dresses - less harsh than black

I also wear 40 denier navy tights with my denim skirt - with ballet flats.

For a slightly retro look, I also wear opaues with open toed heel shoes. I know that some on MN will hate this but it works for me.

I get nude fishnets from any department store. I get loads of wear out of them as Im in Scotland so bare legs only really an option for a fortnight a year : )

Gillybobs I'm in Northern Ireland so know how it is...bbbrrrr.....and considering moving when I read of everyone else in sandals and bare legs already Envy and I'm still shivering in opaques and boots ...... will definitely look out for some nude fishnets, thanks for the idea.

Nude fishnets from M&S.

Coloured tights with wedges or ballet flats.

Am really not sure about footless tights: I like the idea of them in a kind of 'Toast' inspired 'lady in silk dress wafting in her footless tights as though she may be an off duty ballerina' way - but the reality is usually a far less pleasant image.

I am wearing this dress today with navy leggings and cardi and pewter ballet flats.
