Need some help with day dresses!

Basically I know what suits me, but just can't find it! I am 5ft 6 and a pear shaped 14. My chest is very small, so v-necks are out, but my hips are particularly large at the moment (though I am taking steps to change this). I really need something which is fitted at the waist but that doesn't flare out in the skirt as this style makes my hips look HUGE. Nice fitted shift dresses are perfect for work and flatter my shape, but I want something a bit more casual for day wear, that I can maybe even wear on a casual night out. Budget isn't huge, so does anyone have any suggestions?

They might not be in budget but the whistles dresses at the minute are really flattering, seem to skim the hips / bum. Think they have some in the sale too. I picked up the parrot print one last week and am amazed how good it looks.
