Here

Thought they'd be good for warmer days when my toenails are looking a bit tatty, or Spring days when I still need tights. The chunkiness would possibly offset my treetrunk ahem, not-quite-colt-like limbs.

I'm thinking 1970s mum-look - A line skirt, opaque coloured tights, slim top...

Whatcha think?

They would look awful on me but I do like them. I'm too short so I think they would make me look 'stocky'

Lovely colour and a good price Smile

Hmmm... I don't like crocs Confused

DurhamDurham (is that where you're from by the way? I'm from Newcastle, though I don't live there anymore): I'm 5'8, is that tall enough?

Maybe I'll order with the 20% discount & see what they're like.

Oh Yes 5.8" is tall enough!! I'm only 5.2.

I'm from Durham and live there now but did spend 20 years down south. Nice to be back Smile

It's very much a personal thing. I'm afraid I think they are hideous, sorry.

Love the chunky sole and heel. Love the studs. And they are airy without having to expose your toes.

Yeah, I understand they're probably a bit Marmite... My main concern is mumsiness though, especially as they're from Clarks. And I'm a mum. And old Grin

DD: I've lived down south for over 25 years - eek! I do love it up north but I don't miss that cold wind straight off the North Sea brrrrrrr!

why aim for mumsiness? surely this is not a goal? like saying I want to look frumpy Wink - not saying you are of course! Aim high girl!

Report
scampadoodle · 15/03/2011 19:49

No, no, I mean I'm worried they are mumsy, and I don't want them to be.

Blush I think those are the summer shoes I've been searching for! I don't like to show my toes. But I really like these! I wish they were a bit cheaper, though... maybe wait for the sale.

maybe I'm mumsy?

They strike me as hobbit shoes. Is that the look you were going for?

Report
voiceofnoreason · 15/03/2011 19:55

Ah soz DD - they are a) mumsy, b) frumpy, c) clumpy, d) plain nasty. I could go on but Wine calls and i have run out of adjectives

Report
usualsuspect · 15/03/2011 19:56

A bit clumpy

On the plus side, they would burn cheerily, on t'fire.

Sorry but I hate them and think they're incredibly mumsy.

These (Clarks's) look frumpy - somehow too tame and dull - but I like Swedish Hasbeens (or their Torpatoffeln ripoffs). I'm also a bit worried about the head-to-toe 1970s look. Perhaps it would look great on a supermodel, but I'd look like a librarian, or, worse, like my mum circa 1974 Grin.

Report
scampadoodle · 15/03/2011 20:23

I'm sort of aiming for the 1974 look Grin

Don't worry, I'd temper it a bit!
