What colours go with pale pink?

I bought this fabric today www.tessuti-shop.com/products/queens-quartz, planning to make a summer dress but then started to think that I probably have enough dresses and that it would make a nice autumn blouse. Only problem is I can't work out what colour skirt it would go with. Any suggestions would be appreciated

I tried putting a grey skirt next to it but it didn't quite look right. But I'm just not very confident I think.

The same colour, but solid, with no pattern.

Chocolate brown.

I have a similar problem. I made a skirt and it hangs sadly in the wardrobe because nothing goes with it.

I've matched a similar colour to fawn before.

I think pale pink requires confidence- think licorice allsorts Wink

So black, orange, purple, green, blue, yellow- but all the same tone IYSWIM.

Depending on your colouring, I would go for a mint green or orange skirt with a black belt and lilac tights- but I go very full on with colour. Tone it down with a cream belt and black opaques and shoes if you don't want to do the coloured tights thing.

Well DD is wearing a dress in similar colour with chocolate brown tights and silver shoes and looks fab Smile If a tad like a neopolitan ice-cream.

But yes, charcoa and navy also good.

Tethers much much braver than me.

Oh dear - I was hoping there was just an easy answer that everyone knew except me. I'm thinking brown might be best now. Is black a no no ?

camel
grey
taupe/mushroom shades

Brown, IMO, is too harsh a contrast and will kill it.

Black is def a no-no. The only colour that goes with black is black or grey. anything else looks cheap.

Brown works well, especially with cream accessories. Grey looks washed out, although could work if you have the right colouring.

Black works a treat, sorry cabbage- you are so, so wrong Grin

Definitely grey - pale or charcoal depending on what you prefer.

Oh yes black looks good too.

I know trinny and susannah had that thing about black but I just think its wrong. Navy and black looks good.

And brown and pale pink is lovely.

I adored Krystal's clothes and her hair - that fringe that had wings at the sides . . .

Agree with tracey- chocolate brown would look lovely with that pink.
I think grey looks great with a cooler, more bluey pink but that pink looks warmer and more orangey in tone.

Black will just kill it. it's a lovely soft colour and if you use a dark non-colur( black is technically not a colour) it will wipe out the lovely warm hue of the pink.

Report
tethersend · 31/12/2010 14:19

Rubbish. Black contrasts with and highlights the softness of the pink.

I agree with you townsend, I think black is fine with other colours. Depends a bit on your own looks/personality whether you can carry off black or not IMO
