You want warm, waterproof, non-slip? Snow boots on a par with a merrell budget this way....

I had these in black for two winters.

they look like leather but aren't

Fantastic. BUT in pulling them on, the lining ripped to shreds. So today I got these

not as lairy a purple in RL

What do you think?

They have the same sole unit as my other ones and they were 100% brilliant on the ice last year.

Oh I like the first pair a lot. The second are pretty hideous, sorry!

They are 'distinctive' aren't they?

Ordered them in jaunty mood that has since ebbed a little. And I will have to wear them a lot now. Oh well... Will be warm and non bruised at any rate.

oh, I do!

Like the brown ones a lot, but footwear is the one thing I hate buying online, really need to try it on. Does anyone know of a similar style (with same practicality) available on high street?

I actually quite like the colour of the purple ones but all that lacing looks a bit much - If I have to bother with lacing I'd rather stick to trusty walking boots.

I like the first ones, woudl be good to try them on before ordering.
WOnder if you can get these in the shops?

FranSanDisco · 27/11/2010 15:12

My 10 yo has similar ones to the purple but not for me I'm afraid.

Leather soles are really, really non-slip.
And leather soled boots are generally resoleable. Hence why you don't see them so much, I suppose Sad Imagine not having to shell out for a pair every year. We can't have that. [sarky]

I had Romika boots last winter - these ones and I second the fact that they are great - mine are really cozy (thermal fleece lined/padded) and non-slip soles. I am almost looking forward to the snow/ice coming so I can get mine out again.

OP I have to say that your purple ones are more distinctive than I would go for but I don't think you'll regret them from a practical pov Smile

I have these from Lands End in grey. They aren't particularly pretty, but they work...

Sorry Dukes, they look like something a Bratz doll would wear

Pity I'm not likely to go to Manchester any time soon ... and I've just checked Romika website for stockists, none much nearer.

Surely must be some other brands ...
