At what age did your DS's become fasion conscious?

My DS loathes clothes shopping, refuses to consider jeans & has primark trousers that he lives in (sports trousers) & only 2 long sleeve tee-shirts & a hoody top that he really likes that look ok. Hates "weird" writing & patterns on clothes as well - which limits choice these days.

He puts on clothes that clash & doesn't mind being told to choose something else, but has not quite got the idea yet.

BTW, he's just turned 10. Am I in for a shock soon? Also, is there anything good in Asda or Tesco's at the moment as we have to travel to those.

Oh, be glad, milliways - DS2 is 12 and has been OTT fashion-conscious for a couple of years, it is tiresome (and expensive!) - eg he had a whole bunch of lovely GAP t-shirts and sweatshirts, some from ebay but some not, and won't touch them now, even though they still fit; it's all Diesel and Lambretta and fcuk now.

Before he "turned" he lived in sports pants and plain Tshirts and sweatshirts. Whether yours goes the same way as mine rather depends on his mates I think! Matalan and Sports Soccer are good for cheap plain sporty clothes (and have a look at ebay too, with him giving the OK first, it's a lot cheaper for experimentation!)

Ta, DD likes Matalan (goes with her Gran!) so I might take them both there at the weekend.

Ds1 has always loved shopping for clothes. He is great fun, telling me what he thinks will go with what. I think he is going to present Queer Eye For The Straight Guy one day. He cries if the seams on his socks are visble, and always has to be coordinated! He is 7 in november.
