What the best mascara?

Just for day to day wear, not one that makes me look like I am wearing 3 sets of false lashes.

The one I wear at the moment seems to smudge a bit as the day goes on but it is only a cheapy boots No7 one.

Don't mind paying a bit more for one that doesn't smudge.

i have this one for everyday wear, volumising without the false lash effect, and doesn;t irritate my sensitive eyes. lasts all day as well.

I found that the boots natural collection lash lengthening mascara is really good and only £1.99.

I have individual semi-perminent lash extensions on at the moment but preferred my eyelashes with the boots mascara!

I am still swearing by Lancome Hypnose. Shame it;s so £££.

I bought L'oreal Architect last week to try and am disappointed. It feels hard when dry and is tricky to build up - goes spikey.
Difficult to build up once the first few coats have dired.

if anyone has any ideas please share. I have practically no lashes and need about 5 coats just to look human.

I like clinque and Lancome. My lashes became really brittle with cheap ones and started to break so I don't mind paying a bit more these days (old lady emoticon).

Maybelline Lash Stiletto.
I've tried loads and love this one, I come back to it every time.
I use 17 waterproof for wet days too, and it's good.

Boots No 7 Exceptional Definition is excellent. I have very short sparse pale lashes, but this makes my lashes look long without the Gloria Hunniford/Barbara Cartland effect.

I hate shelling out loads for mascara, seems a waste for soemthing you have to replace so often because of hygeine issues.

Maybelleine and max Factor do really good ones at not too bad prices. Particulalry like the collossal, 2000 calories and false lash effect.

BTW OP, Boots have a deal on at the moment where if you take an old mascara to a clinique counter they will swap it for a swanky clinique one.

Max Factor Masterpiece is fab. They also have a new one out.

Have tried others like YSL false lash, lancome, Clinique glossy (good) and always come back to this.

Blinc also good.

Another vote for diorshow iconic extreme - you could do an exercise class in it and it won't budge.

Maybelline Great Lash is fab for day-to-wear. Cheap and easy to find in supermarkets, it's the pink and green one.

I also like Max Factor Masterpiece.

I keep meaning to try max factor masterpiece mascara but it's always sold out in my local Boots. Must be a good sign!

Yes, Maybelline Great Lash. I use the waterproof one.

Blinc. You can get a sample that lasts ages and gives you a 20% off voucher. I've run out at the moment and am using a normal mascara (Virgin Vie something or other). Makes me realise just how good the Blinc one is.

Bourjois Volume Glamour is excellent and only about £7.99. Also like the Clinique one in the dark green tube (can't remember what it's called) and BeneFit Bad Gal Lash.

The best ever was by Estee Lauder, but was discontinued about 12 years ago and I've never found one I liked as much. Chanel seems to have been reformulated so the search for the perfect mascara goes on! I hate anything that goes crispy and don't like anything cloggy/fake looking.

Blinc. Mascara and lash primer.

clinique curling mascara is brilliant because it doesnt smudge and gives volume straightaway without fiddling around for ages. Its like the blinc tube mascara and only comes off with warm water. I hate the way that some mascaras go on your eyelid when you put them on and no matter how careful you always end up trying to wipe bits off - but for some reason the clinique brush doesn't do this.

Doodlebug, that sounds too good to be true! So what you take any old mascara in and get a new one?

I'm still a Lancome Hypnose fan, want to try the Chanel one (name escapes me)

Chantecaille. I have converted 4 friends to this now,it is incredibly natural with 1-2 coats and show-stopping with 3-4. It never clogs and everyone, I mean everyone, says "what mascara are you wearing?? It's amazing".

RE chantecaille, I love the brand but 30 quid is so much for a mascara - esp as they have such a short shelf life. Taking chances, how long does it last?
